So it's a PERFECT example of the iPhone being all fluff, while the Touch Pro 2 has functionality (even though they look the exact same so the Touch pro 2 sling player has the fluff too).
2: Man you keep saying this and that about Android being faster and I wasn't going to get into it, but on all the videos I have seen comparing the 2- yes, the Nexus One was faster, but the page looked better on the WinMo device. Speed isn't always everything. And talking abou tspeed- run that same speed test on a G1 and compare it to a Touch Pro 2. Of course it's faster when the hardware is like 2 generations newer.
3: So the Hero has a flash drive option- big whoop. Does that mean the Touch Pro 2 doesn't or something? Just because the Hero does it too doesn't mean the Touch Pro 2 is less functional. Show me the keyboard on either of them. Show me the sling player.
4: Yes, the tilt feature comes form the actual phone, no tthe OS. The speed you are talking about also comes from the actual phone, not the OS. Again, show me an HD2 speed test up against a T-Mobile G1.
5: Onscreen keyboard is NOT faster, lol. Maybe for you, but most definitely not for me. I can type on the keyboard without even looking. And I can also type on the keyboard without some virtual keyboard taking up half my screen. So when I type up a Word Doc (another function of the Toch Pro 2) I can get busy with it.
6: You are comparing the latest and greatest Android hardware to last generation WinMo hardware. Not a fair comparison at all. Again, sit an HD2 next to a T-Mobile G1 and then tell me which one is faster. You think the OS is all there is to it, but that is certainly not the case.
Saltydawg you are delusional for even comparing winmo to android, EVERYONE in the world knows winmo 6.5 needs a major overhaul. any comparison i make is nexus vs. hd2 which is why i keep ignoring the keyboard feature. When doing a comparison i don't even know whether to compare vs 6.5 or sense 2.5 thats the only thing even worth of comparison. to be honest the droid is a better everyday phone then the tp2. emails, web browsing, phone integration with everything like your, google voice, google maps, youtube (i don't even want to get into facebook or apps which simplify your life so much, which of course winmo 7 will be integrating), and so much more. someone sends me a youtube link through email or text, winmo won't know where to open that link, android will ask "open in youtube player or webbrowser" thats just a simple example but the phone makes everything easier. All the customizations you run on your phone are only to make your tp2 run as easily as a droid. Besides slingbox, you still havent given me 1 thing winmo has better. I promise if you had an hd2 and a supersonic, after 1 week you would use your supersonic more readily, i'm 100% positive.

These people just don't get it. DUDE above said we couldn't multitask or we need software on our phones to hook it to a PC or we can't just put a SD card in our phones or another, thaats just crazy talk. That's just ignorant... I made a video of my tp2 vs the nexus on Pandora and its a joke how much better androids is... Ill post a link soon.....

http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=jAzYX...ient=mv-google
excuse the vulgarness...LOL. this is just one example. Day to day usage and apps, winmo/tp2 just cannot compete with android/nexus/Droid/any android phone.

This ones the Facebook app. Look how crappy it is on the tp2. Can't even switch next pic... now these bids are both on wifi. The phones that is..
http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=VxST3...ient=mv-google

WINMO needs a change. AND untill that happens count me out. Still I don't see these funcionalities everyone speaks of winmo being able to do more. I bet by the time you open up a browser on the tp2 I'd already have the page loaded on my nexus....

And I never once have used word or excel or any of that and I bet (most) people with a tp2 have either.......

I never thought I would be able to type faster on screen than a hardware keyboard but its true.

Its because there ARE none lol.. and anyone realistic about it knows this. I have 2 phones side by side all day everyday and see first hand EVERYDAY how slow winmo is compared to my iphone and my girls droid. I had nothing but good to say about winmo and ive been dedicated to it but im not going to stick with the old when there are better options available.

There ar eplenty of things the Touch Pro 2 does that the iPhone doesn't. Tethering, Slingbox, and multitasking come to mind. I know, I know, you don't care about it so therefore it doesn't exist in your mind. Right...

Your're wrong man. Sling Player does NOT work on the iPhone. It works over WiFi only, not over 3G. So do your homework before you post and you'll see who really failed here, lol.

And by the way- the iPhone does none of that stuff unless you jailbreak it. WinMo does it all out of the box.

First of all who said it had to be 3G... I said it works! For one its choppy as hell over 3G anyways, but again I dont use it like the majority of people dont so its not a good measuring stick anyways. And youre right about the jailbreaking part, kinda like iphone is faster than winmo out of the box WITHOUT all of the tweaks and rom flashes, has multi-touch and is more responsive. Also has tons more apps, better gameplay, rotate is 10 times faster with the accelerometer. Oh and you dont have to jailbreak to multitask anymore... there's an app for that... it's called backgrounder.

On the youtube- it works just fine in Skyfire for me. Set Skyfire as the default browser, and then anytime you click a youtube link you get it in Skyfire. Screw the mobile player. The mobile youtube doesn't have all the same content as the full version, so I don't want to use the mobile version at all.

By the way- you can bag on WinMo for HTC skinning it with Sense, but HTC skinned Android with sense too.

All the customizations I do just to make my phone run like an Android? LOL, man listen to yourself here...

Let me explain- Sprint (and the other carriers) along with HTC designs the ROM. Thyey take the core OS that Microsoft gives them, and they load it up with their junkware, and try to cripple things they don't want, and so on. All the customizations you speak of are just removing all that crap. The fact that I can tweak my ROM to get it how I want it just means Microsoft actually got it right. Sprint screwed it up.

Lets see- aside from Slingbox some of the things I use are Word and Excel, Skyfire, iCalendar (automatically puts all the games from your teams in your calendar), Netflix Mobile, Remote Desktop, and Microsoft MyPhone. I'm sure you can do some of these (or even all of them) on Android, but none of them will be as smooth as on Windows Mobile.

I have been running SPB Mobile Shell since WM5 on the PPC-6700. I have installed it on all of my devices since back then. So all of the tweaks I do and have done, end up with a similar end result. And I am pretty sure Google modeled the Android interface after SPB Mobile Shell.

All of his complaints seem to be with the WinMo interface, which is no surprise. The interface has been the biggest complaint about WinMo for some time now. But SPB Mobile Shell IS that interface that everyone wants WinMo to be like. You put it on a next gen device and there is no complaint.

All of this speed crap is a bunch of garbage. Of course it's going to be slower when it only has half the processor and half the RAM.

On the plus side- at least you can install apps to the storage card on WinMo...
