Ok im mad....

My phone is stuck in headphone mode. It keeps acting as if there are headphones in the phone even though there isnt. It wont ring, the vibrate is messed up... basically the only way I can know I have a call or anything is if im actually LOOKING at the damn phone when I get it. I'm about done with HTC i'm so sick of these problems. I havent even had this phone a couple of months yet and already im going to have to send it back. I hard reset, flashed back to stock but nothing works. I was trying to give htc the benefit of the doubt but after the TP1 and now this im DONE.

I'm calling asurion to get another one and when it comes im gonna sell it and pay my ETF and switch to Verizon. I'm not about to play the phone swap game yet again.

Re: Ok im pissed....

this problem has happened before, there seems to be a defect in the 3.5mm jack. try inserting the headphones back in and take them out a couple times, that usually works.

Just stick the headphone jack back in and pull it back out it should then start working again. That has been an issue for years with HTC, I think thats why they switched to the mini usb set up.

Sorry to hear you're having no luck with your TP2. I've had mine since Sept 8th and I have had NO problems with the hardware or any major flaws with the software.

I would not trade my HTC phone for any other product on the market!! I think iPhones are toys and Blackberries have a lot of applications but cannot beat the functionality provided by the TP2. My friends are jealous when I turn on WMWifi and start surfing the web. They're also shocked when they see the clarity of the screen when watching videos on youtube or streaming video via Slingbox.

Good luck with your switch to Verizon. I hope you find a more reliable phone to your liking.

Re: Ok im pissed....

Did you try soft resetting the phone without headphones plugged in? I've seen people report that the phone doesn't come out of headphone mode properly if you have headphones plugged in when the device starts up.

Re: Ok im pissed....

Ive already tried putting them back in and taking them out repeatedly. The first time it happened that worked but now it seems to be broken for good. As far as the wouldnt take any other phone on the market over HTC.. sorry to say but I cant agree anymore. I like their products but they have too many defects and are built cheap as hell to me. From the keyboard issues and oil screens on the last one to dead pixels and defective 3.5mm jacks on this one. These phones just cost TOO much money to have to deal with nonsense like this.

Man I have tried EVERYTHING. I have to believe its a hardware problem because my vibrate wont work.. when its supposed to vibrate it just makes this weird clicking noise.

The Droid is awesome. If you wait a little bit longer you may be able to get the Google Phone.

Re: Ok im pissed....

i havent had this problem with my tp2 and i got it at launch. i remember this happened with my ipod before (the gen before classic came out). i had to fiddle around with the jack by probing it with the headset plug and finally it started working again. While this problem can occure, i think it's in the huge minority so u should be fine with a replacement.

Re: Ok im pissed....

Just curious but why would you call assurion and pay for a replacement phone when you can just get one from your provider.
