Re: Best Custom Rom Preserving Battery Life and Lower Resource Use
Generally the less bloatware the better the resources available. Also the less modding you do to Windows and TF3D the device the better the resources and battery life. I try to look for a fairly barebones ROM and install only the programs that I need.
Most cooked ROMs were designed with better battery life in mind. Besides usage it also really depends on how good of a signal you have. My phone gets better battery life on my desk rather than in its holster.

Re: Best Custom Rom Preserving Battery Life and Lower Resource Use
The more flair the lower battery life will be. Choose a bare (or create one) ROM without all the pomp and circumstance. The ROM i'm currently using is stripped of TF3D and using Mobile Shell as my interface. Beside the weather and QuickGPS nothing auto connects to the net. I close connections when done using Comm Manager and use Task Manager and RAM Cleaner to close out any unused programs.

Re: Best Custom Rom Preserving Battery Life and Lower Resource Use
With not so crazy usage I can go 2 almost 3 days on one charge. Its not so bad, not like the older version that did drain the battery fiercely. As far as the program its great very customizable to suit your needs. The program has come a very long way....

Re: Best Custom Rom Preserving Battery Life and Lower Resource Use
I am running Mobile Shell 3.5.2 on my Sprint TP2 with stock 6.1 ROM and I now get great battery life. It averages 30mAh - 60mAh of battery usage.
However, when I had S2U2 2.14 on it, it averaged 135mAh - 185mAh, with peaks up to 285mAh or more. I liked the program, but when I removed it I saw the instant improvement, so for whatever reason that combination did not work well for me. |

Re: Best Custom Rom Preserving Battery Life and Lower Resource Use
Most flair does not effect battery but does effect memory. Without enough free ram the phone bogs down easily.
Most roms include a battery monitor. Most roms are pretty good on battery and what effects battery the most is screen brightness. The autobrightness sucks down battery. I'm running 6.5.3 sense ui etc. and averge around 50ma and thats around where you need to be. That's at 30% brightness. As far as resources the kitchen is really easy to use and you build exactly what you want. I have 103mb of ram free at boot loaded with everything I want. See my signature on using kitchen.
