Re: I would pay for an $5 US dollars for a CDMA FM Radio Unlock. Would you pay?
if they removed the fm radio hardware from the touch pro, what makes people think it's not removed from the tp2??? if it was there, we'd probably already have a thread discussing the possibility to unlock it by now... please inform me if there's proof that it's there for CDMA

Guys I don't meant to burst your bubbles but this subject has been covered MANY TIMES. Bottom line, the FM chip and the ability of tuning in are there, but the analog wave output from the chip to the audio bus is PHYSICALLY not there. You can try any software tweaks or cabs you can find, but without that physical connection between the chip to the audio bus (which required some very fine soldering) the FM radio is NOT going to work. It's the same situation with the good old CDMA Touch Pros. Sorry but that is the ugly truth. |

I volunteer to be the guinea-pig for the soldering. I used to work for Hitachi soldering smaller stuff than this so it'd be a breeze. As soon as someone figures out which chip is actually the radio module & once I get the right equipment, I'll do it.
One way to find out for sure if the chip is there & where it needs to be soldered to is to get a GSM TP2, open it up, and compare it's innards to a CDMA model. If we see a soldered chip in the GSM model that isnt soldered in ours, that'll probably be the FM chip.

IIRC someone knowledgeable about our phones said that the FM hardware was a part of our bluetooth chipset. So if you want to start soldering look up our bluetooth specs, tear apart a couple phones and good luck.
