Skyfire stopped updating for Windows Mobile and has shut down many of their servers in many contries and is only working on releases for Android and iphone.
2.0 was only released for Android. Skyfire released something about all the new changes a coiple of months ago.
Windows Mobile is slowly becoming a dying breed :'(

Winmo IS dying. There is something new... Perhaps you've heard of it... It's called Windows Phone 7.
That's why ALL winmo development has stopped. Nothing to do with Android or iPhone... At least not directly.
WP7 will have it's own partners and will have full development but first it has to release and that won't take place till this holiday season. At which point it will be a 1.0 release and will need several revisions. I'm looking forward to it and so are many others. its not wp7 its these ignorant developers refusing to develop for wm6.x because well who knows.

got my hopes up too. skyfire can handle flash stuff no other browser can but other than that it drives me nuts. gets a lot of little things wrong that opera handles well. I was hoping they'd put out a release that fixed some of those things. guess I'll be waiting for win 7.

I see your point... There will continue to be Winmo users for a long time. The fact that Microsoft will not continue to support it might have put them off a bit. There may be some revisions in some time. As I believe that Microsoft will have to come back to Winmo in order to appeal to the true business user. But they have to move forward with their newest and most expensive product.

its be nice if MS would just release all 6.X+ materials to the public after they discontinue support...

However.. When apps have been out of development or abandoned for a year.. Theyre considered distributable after that point...So if MS stops development and abandons all previous winMO versions-Does that mean after a year we can do whatever we want with winMO platforms and freely exchange, mod, hack, and redistribute them at will???? (not that what we do now isnt far off from that lol)

everything has an expiration date just about.. when a music artist dies, i think its after 20 or more like 50years, you no longer need permission or have to pay royalties to use their music in samples and such.. I swear Ive read several times that computer programs and apps have an exlusionary rule like this once theyve been abandoned.. and I thought that term was only a year... check out "Abandonware" on the web youll see what I mean.. theres Hoards of websites set up giving away programs that have been abandoned and thus up for grabs to all now because of these "exclusionary rules"

EDIT found this In November 2006 the Library of Congress approved an exemption to the DMCA that permits the cracking of copy protection on software no longer being sold or supported by its copyright holder so that they can be archived and preserved without fear of retribution it does go on to say that all-be-it your allowed to crack it legally after its been abandoned- it would still be illegal to distribute the cracked program no matter what..
