BOO-urns. There has got to be a way to enable it. If the chip is there, it CAN be done. I may just take my phone apart & poke around inside. I recall someone saying they managed to pick up very faint stations on the Touch Pro after applying a bit of solder paste of something to the contacts on the chip. The TP2 may have the chip, it just might not be soldered in. I used to work for Hitachi soldering microscopic stuff, so if this is the case with our phones, I'll be doing some soldering.

Re: FM Radio On Sprint TP2

i find it very hard to believe that it doesnt have it. Think about it, youve got a phone that works on cdma AND gsm networks, and the gsm versions have the fm chip. Now if this were like the TP, I could believe the chip isnt there, because the cdma and gsm phones were seperate platforms. The TP2 however is cdma or gsm regardles which carrier you buy it from. If one has it, they all have it, there is just some firmware blocking it. I think eventually we will have the tuner working, if there are enough people with the knowhow devoted to figuring it out that is.

Pretty much. To make a long story well, manageable yet not boring: The FM tuner chip is THERE, only problem is that the output from the chip to the audio bus is not there. What does that mean? Well you can still tune in to stations with some software and HARDWARE modification, but there won't be any sound.

On the GSM models it's a different story.
