Re: FM Radio On Sprint TP2

Streaming radio maybe the only option for the TP2 for listening to an some FM station broadcast.

Try WundeRadio at www.jeyo.com

Goodluck!

Re: FM Radio On Sprint TP2

I still believe that the FM tuner within the chipsets used actually interfere with the CDMA radio. When the CDMA Diamond first hit the FCC it listed FM radio, but later it disappeared. Then all future CDMA smartphones from HTC were presented to the FCC without FM listed, even when the GSM equivalent had it.

It definitely would be nice to have FM radio, but I don't care that much about music for it to be a deal breaker for me. I've never owned an MP3 player and don't have any music on my phone. But I would probably be swayed by a shiny, clean working Pandora app.

Re: FM Radio On Sprint TP2

When the Mogul came out, it didn't have GPS working. Sprint wouldn't respond. People took the phone apart and swore on their honor that the phone had no GPS capability, and that we had been ripped off. There was talk of a class-action lawsuit. But the capability was there in the end. Maybe this will turn out the same way

Hey, as long as you're careful, no harm done!

I just don't see the financial sense of using 2 different chips in the different versions. Financial common sense dictates that HTC used the same chips for all models, and at Sprint/Verizon's request, just didn't enable the FM part.

I say we all bombard Sprint & HTC with emails & calls about why we can't have FM while the GSM folks can. A collective scream of NO FAIR! might just get us some answers.
