Re: Slingbox on TP2 what are your settings?

Is there a way to put Slingbox into landscape mode and not have to open/slide the keyboard. I want to put it onto my Vent Mount in Landscape mode. However my mount won't hold the TP2 with the keyboard open.

Any suggestions?

Yes. There's a little icon at the bottom that sort of looks like the icon at the top right of the window on your PC that makes the window full screen. On the Sling, the icon puts the slingplayer into landscape mode.

Re: Slingbox on TP2 what are your settings?

sndtubes,
I can get my phone into landscape full screen if I slide the TP2 keyboard open. What I want to be able to do is to do Landscape with the keyboard closed.

What version did you download? I would like to try your version. I have that icon in landscape but not portrait.

Re: Slingbox on TP2 what are your settings?

I have both a Slingbox and a Hava. I'm currently using the Hava as it has much better quality when viewing on my local network.

I'm using a Hava mobile client that was posted here. It works correctly in landscape mode, even in WM 6.5 (where WVGA doesnt work)

How does the quality compare for remote viewing on the phone??

When I compared them over a year ago (I didn't have the TP2 yet) there was only a tiny difference in viewing on my TP (the HAVA was a hair better, but it was really inconsequential)

I only use my Sling for remote viewing on the phone (or using video out in a hotl room etc), so I don't care at all about local network quality.

Re: Slingbox on TP2 what are your settings?

I find the remote viewing quality to be pretty even. Neither is really that great. The only thing the Slingbox clearly is better at is the remote control interaction. The Hava lags badly when using the remote control. I have tried different settings but still much slower than Sling. Also, Sling mobile has the favorite channels list, Hava Mobile doesn't (but is free).

Another plus for the Hava is that it can have multiple simultaneous viewers.

Re: Slingbox on TP2 what are your settings?

Is there a limit on the the download of the SlingPlayer? I know that I can upload 6Mbps via speedtest.net.

However the download always stays around 350 to 400 Kbps under SlingPlayer statistics. Is there any way to increase the download speed for a better picture? I know that I can reach it on the TP2 because when I use HTCWifi for my laptop I get close to 1.2 Mbps download.
