maybe next year we will see bigger screens. Microsoft is preping their own phone with Tegra in it. the competition has just began.

would it be possible to order this phone unlocked and activate it with a company like at&t using the sim card in a previous phone

YES!!!!! maybe......just MAYBE, sprint will realize the demand for this phone, granted only 600-700 people have signed that petition, im sure that there would be lots of people who would jump on this phone. Honestly, I do not want to pay an enormous amount of money to have this phone imported and open up a line with t-mobile, but if sprint can't realize the demand, than i guess i will have to start collecting cans and mowing lawns to get this phone lol

signed up!!!
Im pretty sure sprint will carry the new model sometime next year. I mean, it would be silly not to...it would sell just off of looks alone.

lol... "Who needs a brick to throw through a window when you have a HD... Introducing the new Sprint Touch HD... It redefines what a brick is.."

Re: HTC Touch HD 480x800 WVGA! Look out Touch Pro!

A brick? Compared to what?

This phone is the same size as the iPhone and has a bigger screen!

To me, it is a good size.

Will it ever come to the States?!?

I understand people want this phone and all, but do those of you that are suggesting switching to a GSM provider really not use your data enough to not miss 3G?

Precisely. Its about time that someone stated the obvious. The whole point why we get these phones is for the connectivity and flexibility. And just about everything to do that requires large amounts of data. So who in their right minds would get off the EvDO networks and have super pathetic speeds just for a phone? The GSM networks in the US are trash

Maybe its just me, but I use my phone for calls and texting. I am a Medical student, so i am in the hospital most of my day. The lack of internet speed, i do not think will bother me. I messed with my friends HD and he is on At&t and the speeds seemed ok to me. I really do not use my phone for BUSINESS things or EMAILING........so maybe i will be one of the lucky ones to actually enjoy the phone without the blazing speed.:silent::???:

I just graduated from med school and I used my data a bunch. It was what I did in between every thing else while on rotation. I had to use data to check darn near everything. If u only phone and text then its like why have this awesome phone instead of something simpler?

Well, maybe i was too vague with my answer, I will use the phone for more then texting and phone calls, but as far as synching it with microsoft outlook and all that other stuff, im not into it that much. I will use it to get my yahoo and google mail, use it for instant messaging and of course....using the browser. Why do i want the phone? Because i am a phone freak lol. I had the vogue, diamond, and Touch pro, disliked them all. After handling my friends for 5 minutes I knew that the HD was the phone i want. I like the whole TOUCH SCREEN and the WM6.1 that it has, i just hate the iphone and since this phone is the top of the line......well.....i had to have it :mrgreen: I know some people will read this and go , but cellphones are my hobby and having the latest and greatest well....:drunken:

Me too but its still all data intensive and EvDO is just the fastest in the US

Re: HTC Touch HD 480x800 WVGA! Look out Touch Pro!

True, but i guess to each their own.......all of us use our phones for different things, and since sprint isn't getting anything that "WOWS" me anytime soon, i had to jump on this phone....it was either this or the TREO PRO and after handling that one also......HA i think i made the right decision.

Re: HTC Touch HD 480x800 WVGA! Look out Touch Pro!

All I have to say is D#MN this phone is worth it, trust me, i have no regrets purchasing this phone and probably having to jump ship to T-MOBILE. Sorry sprint, but i just can't take the HTC phones you have to offer. For anyone else who may want to know, I will be selling my TOUCH PRO and possibly my other phones on EBAY, but for sure my TOUCH PRO, need money to buy that T-mobile plan. Anyone SERIOUSLY interested, PM me, and yes the phone is in brand new, DAMN good shape, i used it for a week and a half. I am selling it with the snap-on case and all the accessories that came in the box, heck the thing is back in the box, in my closet. So if interested PM me before i put it on EBAY.

Re: HTC Touch HD Pro leaked!!!!!

I hate to keep dashing hopes, but that is not the Touch HD Pro. There is no Touch HD Pro on the way. The Rhodium/Tungsten is the 2009 Touch Pro with a larger screen and no wheel. That's all. The Touch HD is coming (not sure which carrier) and it will be either the Whitestone or Firestone -- remember, the original Touch HD was called the Blackstone.

Look at the images, at the size of the slide-out keyboards, and you will see what I am talking about. The Topaz/Citrine is the 2009 Touch Diamond, again larger screen and no wheel. The Jasper C will be Sprint's first Android Phone, hint: look at the # of buttons on the bottom, the keys on the keyboard, etc.

I was waiting for a Touch HD Pro myself, until I realized how insanely large that mother would be. I'll settle for a virtual kb and use the Whitestone/Firestone, whichever comes to Sprint. Hopefully they will redesign them a little as well, too blocky IMO.

Re: HTC Touch HD Pro leaked!!!!!

Thank you all for signing the petition I started. I am glad to see that even though I've been busy people continue to show interest.

I am taking the time now, before going to bed, to contact Jerry Adriano with Sprint to make good on his request that started the petition in the first place, and I quote him:

" A petition may be more effective and last year there was one that was created by Mogul users. Once the creator of the petition sent me the link, I was able to get our product team engaged and provide them the visibility. You are also welcome to give out my email address." -- Jerry.Adriano@sprint.com

Please don't inundate him with email saying "me too", but if you have something to add about how you want this product by all means let him know. The petition is the correct place to voice your support for the Touch HD, but if you have something personal to add to the message or something else to tell him, go right ahead and email him.

I find it refreshing that a corporate executive really does want to listen to customers. Myself, working for some sort of corporation, I understand first hand that there are a lot of complexities to deciding if something makes good business sense to do, but I still have respect for those that take the time to listen and do their part to help. It is rare in the corporate world where so many agendas have to be balanced on the tip of a needle.
