This is a Sprint Radio issue. None of my GSM Windows Mobile phones EVER had a problem like this. WinMo is actually very good, but I've seen this happen on Sprint's devices before (some people claimed it happened on the 6700 as well, however I personally never owned one). I used to experience the random device-wake-up on my mogul in my office, where the device seemed to have trouble figuring out which tower to connect to (weak sprint signal, strong roaming VZ signal). This was very frustrating to me since the last 4 HTC devices I owned never gave me a problem (Tornado, T-mo SDA, Dash, Wizard). I found that if I were to force the phone into roaming in that weak area, the device would stay off as intended. This is indeed very annoying, but its a good temporary fix. When I leave the office I put the phone back into automatic as intended. I wrote a little MortScript and posted it on XDA-developers that will switch between roaming and automatic for you. Just to clarify again: Its a SPRINT issue, and not a Windows Mobile one!! |

backlight cutting on wm6 is buggy already, its my assumption (from a none technical standpoint) that this is not related to tower feeds, i'll play around with this later on today tho, being wrong doesnt bother me, but from what ive seen, it doesnt look like a radio issue *edit* Any alltel wm6 users get this problem? |

There are multiple things besides the radio that cause it.
Nobody knows what all of them are. I've found that when ActiveSync decides to launch itself in the background, my phone will power itself out of standby as well. |

Just to chime in that this has to be a bug that will get fixed with an upgrade. My Telus Mogul on MW5 used to do this like crazy and ever since they upgraded us to WM6, it has yet to happen.
Telus Windows Mobile 6 is: CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.0) Check in Settings/About to see if yours has a lower build number.

Thanks to HTC I had almost given up on Windows Mobile. The Samsung Omnia i910 changed my mind.

Re: Mogul backlight randomly turns on while device locked
Looks like I'm waking up an old thread w/ this (and yes, I searched and this is all i found), but ever since I upgraded to 3.35 I've had this problem. There has been speculation as to the cause, but I can add that my signal strength is fine, and it only started after the update.

Re: Mogul backlight randomly turns on while device locked
Mine does this when it uses the data connection.
So even if I have everything closes, it will turn it on when my email does it's hourly send / recieve. |

Re: Mogul backlight randomly turns on while device locked
I don't think it's strictly a Sprint problem. I have a T-Mobile Dash and my backlight comes on constantly for no reason. I'll leave it on the table and it comes on. I just recently replaced my battery because it would constantly drain even without using it.

Re: Mogul backlight randomly turns on while device locked
I've had this problem with every official rom and unofficial rom. On 2 different Moguls. You'll get used to it eventually.
