just find the tomtom software its the best for turn by turn directions, its all over the web. and yes you can have more than 1 bluetooth device connected at a time. have a gps reciver, mounted under the hood of my trunk pluged into my rear cigrette lighter, and its always on. when i get in my car, my phone auto connects when i start tomtom, and it also connects to my bluetooth deck for handsfree, and a2dp audio.

i find iguidance 4.0 the best navigation software there is. i use it with my mogul and is voice direction is really loud and clear. plus it announces all street namesss

It works great. I leave it on my keychain as shown when my keys are in the ignition and my phone is in the vent holder and I always keep a solid signal of 7-9 satellites.

Windows Live Search GPS Question

The Turn by Turn directions are awfully small at the bottom - it would be great if they could be bold!

Also, is there a 3D view?

Thanks,

BB

I have an M-1200 too and is amazing how good it is, I get a fix in seconds and keeps track of location even inside the house. The chipset on it is lower power than SirfIII so battery life is amazing for the minuscule size.

What's the average battery life like?

Well I drove from Indianapolis to Atlanta over the weekend without recharging it and the low battery warning didn't come on. That is around 8.5 hours, it is the only time I have used it for more than a couple hours at a time.

I bought the M1000, and tried Google, Live, and even Street Atlas 2008 (I was a Street Atlas fan long before I got a PPC), and ended up buying TomTom. Google & Live are okay for spur of the moment stuff, but they don't compare to TomTom. It's not cheap, but it's definitely much better. Street Atlas was such a disappointment. I can't comment on iGuidance though....

Has anyone had a problem with their phone finding the GPS the next time?? I've found that sometimes when I go to use it again, I have to change what COM port the phone assigns. For example, I used it on the way to work this morning, and it was on COM4 and worked flawlessly. I closed the app, and turned off the GPS. When I got in the car this afternoon, it reported "No GPS Device". I switched the COM port to COM5, restarted the software, and it was able to connect at COM5. When it happens again, I'll have to switch back to COM4 and then it'll find it and function just fine again. It's more annoying than anything, but I just can't figure out what the deal is. Nothing I've done (short of hard resetting) will allow me to use it at the same COM port again. I've tried deleting and re-pairing, etc., and nothing else works. I have to change which com port it's using.

I got a Garmin Mobile 10 GPS for about $180 that provides voice directions via your cellphone. Might be more than you're looking for, but it seems pretty decent.
