Just to confirm, you tried both Wall charger and PC charger?

Also, try to take out the battery for 30 sec and put it back in.

I did. i've tried both chargers, and the docking station.

Also, i tried the battery for 10 minutes out of the phone.

The phone charges, but it isn't recognized by ASync4.5....

Oh ok, thats different. I thought you meant it didn't charge. You can always sync via Bluetooth if you have that.

If you want try to get usb to work.

In Active sync there is an option for Advanced usb..try toggling that

Just an update before night...

I felt really dumb when i saw the 'hardware wfii' switch on the left side of the phone...

I've been using the one on the right to get to comm manager...
sheesh!

But, for now...
GPS - good
WM 6x pro ROM - good
g-maps - good
bt - good
wifi - good

ActiveSuc actually worked....just a few minutes ago.!..

who knows why? I did flip the wifi switch a few times....the phone locked up....a soft reset....and now it's alll working..

odd..

Thanks all for getting me this far.
Funny how when it finally totally locks up, then it works afterwards..

which way to the general FAQs, so i can bone up on this...
unless i might be fortunate enough to receive more excellent guidance..

which RADAR image works best with SPB pocket plus?
or is there a better alternative for live radar images on the today /home screen?

To use GPS software, i ....... (cause my folks have Garmin, i think, for example, will the PPC run any of those type)

Can i get FM radio on this phone?

Any other cool broadcast type things such as WeatherBand freq.s?

And i guess i should start with the
'show me your today screen' thread for ideas?

Please answer these questions? They are prominently sticking out in my head.....now that the dust is settling.

It's really hard to display my appreciation for you guys spending your time to help (me) yet another densely stupid net vagrant..
But i really thank you, the few hours you spent helped me to get over the hill...

now that the pressure is off, and i have time to study it(since my phone works, my net works, and even more pluses like GPS, etc) I'm going to read more of each thread from the beginning..

one problem is i didn't get a owner's manual with the phone..

so i didn't know about that slickly hidden button, under my rubber protective skin..

There is a Garmin and a Tom Tom and iGo for ppc. But they may be somewhat slow depending. Google maps and Bing work fine on the phone though and Ive used it plenty of times.

If you wanna get radio but it is streamed via data and not natively.

there is all kinds of things from youtube to etc...

The 2 most popular front page uis are Titanium, HTC Home, Manilla

My phone is serving me well, and i haven't modded much due to original strife when unlocking, etc as per this thread....

So now, i'm at a crossroads.

Now, since i'm not all 'rush rush', i can address the info in the phone that i need to

'record', so that if a flash erases something, i can still manually restore the phone.

I think the terms were ESN, and a bunch of i.d.#s, and some property values.

I know that's pretty vague, but what are the important numbers i should record in case i erase the phone when flashing, or so i can restore to VZ oem for warranty service?

You dont need anything. Just flash the stock rom and it will have everythign there.

OK here is a twist.

I pulled out from home the other day, and i saw a VW NB, probably a diesel....dripping oil and burning, pulled to the roadside, and people running about..

I was running in a hurry, and i didn't have an extinguisher...so i tried to call 911 on my xv6800.

Nothing happened.
The phone froze for like, 60 seconds, then resumed.

I tried again. again the phone froze.

Is this related to the ROM? radio?

Is this normal?

btw, when i came back, the small, dripping flames had burnt the car crispy....no sign of fire truck or police.

the windows were burned out, the smoke running over the top, blackening it...

inside totally burnt out...it was only like 20 minutes later when i went by again.

but i couldn't call 911 for help.
