Re: trouble with reflash xv6800, so lost, so stupid i am

No, i think this phone is immaculate.

Not even a scratch.

The WIFI totally worked when i opened the package. I took it to the Vz office...

the guy did the works, 'soft or hard' reset (I didn't pay attention, earlier that day, the tech told me 'this phone cannot be activated, i can't tell you why')

So on the second trip, I had only 5 minutes til close..

the tech setup the phone, and when he gave it back, the Wifi was off...

no button on comm manager....when using the switch, the wifi tower comes on(beacon?) then goes right back off..

like it's locked out.

I'm going to try to mess with it again tonight some, it'll be a few hours.

I reallly do appreciate all the helps, really..

I really really do appreciate it!
Thanks all!

I'm just sorry i'm not much worth the help...

Flash the stock rom I give to remove anything that might have happened. Just so you know never let a Verizon person touch the phone unless you are returning for a warranty replacement. There should have been no need for him to do anything. I guess maybe transfer numbers. Hopefully you have insurance plus extended warranty and can replace the phone if it is bad

just used the PPC kitchen and have wifi with no problems. IF you use that kitchen make sure to use the 10 button comm manager.

How about his, download a new rom from here:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=858
-Upgrade by following the on screen instructions.
OK, I tried this ROM...

It worked, and was wm6.5 pro, right?

My Wifi is working great...now

However, now, my USB port is dead

It won't sync or charge.

Deducing that i have x radio, and xwm6.5 rom now, i assume my gps works...

any clues on how to fix my ASync?

I've already re-installed it to both PC and PPC, and I've reset them both, hard and soft, with battery pulls..

The USB hasn't worked since the flash to the ROM you pointed out...

So i can't use my internet connection for Googlemaps data, unless i'm on Wifi...

but without being able to Sync, i can't use GPStest...

and

I ran the USB.cab file...... no change

suggestions?

thanks for all the help so far...

Do you have a different HTC cable you could try?
Or a charg cradle.
Don't use Motorola.
Some USB hub cables might work.

What it wants you to download is 2005 version. It should be available in windows update.

As for the usb issue, can you do:

Power back on into bootloader by pressing and holding the POWER, COMM, and CAMERA buttons at the same time. (The 3 buttons on the right side of the phone)

it should say serial, when you plug it in after wards, does it say USB or still serial?

(You can exit boot loader by reseting the phone)

Also, you can always sync via bluetooth but the usb issue needs to be resolved anyways for charging.

Ok, will try.

It says serial. Only serial. I can't make it say USB.

I will try to update the 2005 version of .NET.
