Re: Need diagram or pic of prongs in USB port

I got it working again. I straightened all the pins up, and it's charging. I wonder if I could stick something in there to hold them apart, like it's supposed to be.

As for being screwed, I can truthfully say that it's nothing new. Lol.

Re: Need diagram or pic of prongs in USB port

He doesn't need the black bar even though it should be there..ive broken miniusb ports before..the biggest issue is the bottom ones, they are much smaller then the top ones and fixing those is pretty futile.

To tell you the truth all the pins aren't required for charging..most of them are needed for data..I don't remember which ones off the top of my head but i think it like 2-3 pins that are required for charging

As for phone swapping, you wont loose your sero..

if your afraid there is option 2 where you add a second line, put that phone get repair and cancel in 30 days *whistle*

As for soldering out, its not that hard really..as long as you have a spare port on something else. Like for my notebook cooler, it was using a crappy connector that snapped so I replaced it with a miniusb and it works great...but do this as a LAST resort.

Re: Need diagram or pic of prongs in USB port

I've had the phone over two years. They told me I could upgrade to the HTC Snap ($150) or a Palm Treo Pro ($200). But I love my Mogul.

Re: Need diagram or pic of prongs in USB port

My prongs were bent also, so I toke the phone apart. Very easy. Remove the four screws from the behind the battery. After the screws are removed just pop of the back . Just pry off the plastic cover (remove the micro sd card) Then look at the back of the usb port looking from the inside of the phone. I took a small flat screwdriver and pressed the pins back down.

Re: Need diagram or pic of prongs in USB port

I ordered an external battery charger. It's more inconvenient, but I won't need to use the USB port that way. I'm using Google calendar and contacts to sync over the air, which works great, by the way.
