Need diagram or pic of prongs in USB port
Hi. The prongs in my charging port are all bent out of shape. I've tried to straighten them in the past, but I don't know what they're supposed to look like. Now it won't charge sometimes, or it won't sync, or the phone dials itself when it's on the car charger. Does anyone have a diagram or a picture of what the prongs are supposed to look like so I can try to get them back to normal???
I took the phone to Sprint. I have no insurance and it's out of warranty, so it would be a $95 repair. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

Thanks. I have ten prongs sticking up. Maybe half of them should be bent down flat?

Re: Need diagram or pic of prongs in USB port
There are 5 prongs top and 6 prongs bottom.

Re: Need diagram or pic of prongs in USB port
if the bottom ones are messed up then there is little you can do..other then soldering out the port and replacing it.
I hear there are some tricks to getting insurance added to your account like swapping your phone temporarily back and forth and etc. Haven't tried it myself though. |

Do they all stand up, so that it's like UUUUUI?

Re: Need diagram or pic of prongs in USB port
Unfortunately, I don't do soldering. I looked at the part, and it needs to be soldered in. I normally would try the switching of phones, but I'm on the old Sprint SERO plan ($30 for 500 minutes, unlimited text, messaging, 7pm nights free, etc.) and don't want to do anything to mess that up!

And just so you know switching phones can;t change your plan unless you try to switch to the instinct or pre.

Mine doesn't have the black bar in the center. It's just the prongs standing alone.
