Ring Toggle hardware fix for mogul/titan

For all of you ex-Treo users longing for a hardware button to toggle vibrate mode/ringer on, the attached CAB file can fix your cravings.

All credit goes to vmirage on XDA Forum for the CAB file.

Download the CAB file to your device and run it. Map any hardware key to "Vibra" and you are set.

I am using the Comm Manager button on the right (below power) as my vibrate toggle. The Comm Manager software can be located in the /Windows directory (hidden file). Create a shortcut to it in the /windows/start menu/programs folder and make a link to it on your Today screen (in WAD, Ilauncher, Clauncher or HTC Today etc).

One of my major needs from my Treo 600 days is finally over after three Pocket PC devices failed to provide that essential little switch.

Search "Ringer Vibrate switch" on XDA forum and download the file. I am not allowed to link to files or upload files as a new member. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Uploading CAB file

I am going to retry and upload the CAB file for the Vibrate Toggle switch. Here goes.... When you download the file, remove the .zip extension as the file is a RAR file and unpack with WINRAR. Copy cab to your device and install as indicated in the post above.
Attached Files
File Type: zip vibrate_switchrar_164.zip (5.2 KB, 103 views) Click for barcode!

For those of you using AE Button Plus, it has a built in ringer/vibrate toggle function. I have my comm manager button set to toggle ringer/vibrate on a long press, open comm manager on a double press and lock & power down on a single press.

stroths:

Can you please tell me how you mapped a button to lock AND power down on a single press? I see how you can map a button to do one or the other on a single press but it sounds like you got it to do both somehow. I'd like to map the VoiceDial button to do it.

I realize that - I just want to map a different button (not the Comm button and not the power button, but the Voice Command button).

I use an app called device lock (below). I made the following shortcut to it:

"\Program FIles\Lock\DeviceLock.exe" -o:1

This makes it lock the device and suspend. You must push the actual power button to wake it back up.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305402

Note: Other parameters

-o:* Overrides the lock options and takes a number 0-2.
0 = Lock Only
1 = Lock then Suspend
2 = Lock then Blank Screen

-r:* Overrides the application to run after locking. This must have Quotes around it. Specifying -r:"" will prevent the default application from running.

how do you use that function, I don' see it. Is it the vibrate On/Off toggle, or is there a different one that turns on/off the ringer?
