Anyway to run a ping test?
Can you run a ping test with a mogul or get a cmd prompt?

Re: Anyway to run a ping test?
If you are testing speeds you can get ping to the speedtest servers from the phone, or alternatively you can tether (WMWifirouter, ICS) and get ping settings using the 3g connection. No way to run cmd from phone.

Re: Anyway to run a ping test?
But people who normally did ping tests are looking for network latency and how many hops there all are. Speeds tests wont give you that. Not only that but you may want to ping a particular site (if pingable) to see if there are issues with that one site whereas your normal network speeds might be ok. So pinging a speed server when your speeds are fine wont tell you anything.

Re: Anyway to run a ping test?
I guess the easiest way is to connect via ICS and run a ping test from the connected computer - that in conjunction with Field Test Mode should tell me everything I want to know

I was looking around and came across this software for you, called pocket ping. It is freeware and works pretty well allowing you to ping directly from the phone without hooking it up. |
