using buildos

I have an old 6800 that im just messing around with and about to send back so i have been experimenting with the buildos program and checking out different roms.. I noticed that when i did update the rom it changed the carrier on the phone to cellsouth? i have no clue if thats even a company or not but i watn to upgrade my activated 6800 to win mobile 6.1. I was wwondering if this is going to effect my phone and cause it to not work? In the build os program i always click us cellular as the carrier but like i said earlier it shows on the phone as cellsouth? anyone have any clue as to why it does that and will it effect my phone that i want tto eventually upgrade?

Re: using buildos

To get rid of Cellsouth in the banner you need to use the QPST program to change it to U.S. Cellular. (You'll have to google for the QPST program).
Also make sure that your settings in EPST are correct (on the phone goto File Explorer > Windows > EPST).

Re: using buildos

all of my settings are correct in the EPST and i cant get the qpst program to run right.. it cannot detect my phone and i cannot dial ##3424 or any of them numbers it actually tries to dial them.. also i installed the drivers that is says you need to run with vista so what could be the problem with it not dectecing my phone or my phone not being able to dial out diagnostics?

Re: using buildos

Hold down the center button on the d-pad and at the same time tap and hold on the clock in the title bar at the top of the screen. A menu will pop up. Click Run. In the box that pops up, type dmrouter.exe /DIAG

The dmrouter program will launch. Now connect your phone to your computer via USB and you should be good to go.

This may help too.

Re: using buildos

it didnt work! it said that the dmrouter.exe/diag could not be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found.. try reinstallin file
