I don't know if it really is mono out, but it sounds like it from your post. If it's not supposed to be, I'd contact HTC or your carrier to get a replacement. Yeah, I know, the headphones that come with it aren't the greatest thing in the world, and I really wish they added a stereo mini RCA onto the phone hardware, but you might have to either deal with it, or get a nice set of stereo BT headphones.

Yeah. I am getting mono with the adapter also.
I attached a Radio Shack 2.5mm to 3.5mm connector to it so I could listen in the car. Sound only comes out of the right channel. Hopefully this is just a hardware issue and can be solved by using a mini usb to 3.5mm adapter. |

Usually a 2.5mm jack signifies the jack is for a telephone headset (ie, mono speaker and microphone).
I just picked up a nice 3.5mm stereo headset adapter on ebay for $0.99 (plus $4.95 shipping). It is basically like the included stereo headphone/cable included with the Mogul, but has a 3.5mm jack instead of the headphones (it has a call button, microphone, and volume control). I'd post a link but I can't yet, you can find it on ebay if you search for "3.5mm mogul" you'll find a bunch. |

IIRC, you will need to get a special 2.5 - 3.5 connector to get stereo sound out of the jack. This was the case with the PPC6700 also... the typical Radio Shack adapter didn't make the proper contact in the jack...
