Just did the upgrade and a full restore with spb backup, and it restored everything back to the way it was (modified), the soft keys and the time in the title bar and everything. However the sprint music store still says coming soon. Is anybody else having this issue or is it because of the restore from spb backup

Music note and Sprint store info

[quote="stroths"]Can someone who has NOT installed this let me know if you have a Music Note icon in your list of programs? I did not install the update, but I extracted PPST_070522_Titan_SPCS_1.24.CAB from it and installed that on my 6800 to see what it did. I do have the music icon, which is a Java app that goes to the Sprint Music Store. However, it might have been there before and I just did not notice it.

Yes, I had a May dated ROM, and the music note was on my device. However, clicking on it would only bring the java client up, and give me the message that the store was coming soon.

For those that DID install the update, does the Sprint Music store work for you? I get "Sprint Music Store, coming soon"

I did the update this morning, and can now access the Sprint store. I haven't had any resets today, after having a major one last night. Here's hoping that things are more stable.

Darkness, as I understand it if you restore from spb backup, you write back over the new ROM update. I did the update today and I now have access to the Sprint Music store, whereas prior to the update I saw the coming soon sign.

Yeah I was just testing it and you are right. also with the full restore it shows the old rom info in the device info screen, but when the splash screen shows up it shows the new rom. So i'm wondering what else its writing back over, if by doing the restore am I making the upgrade useless? And before doing the restore I got the splash for the music store asking for my pw, but it wouldn't let me press log in. Anyways I wouldn't use the music store

Technically, you're not supposed to Restore after a ROM upgrade. Things can go extremely wrong. Nothing a Hard Reset and manual reinstall won't fix. However, I did restore, and things work great, including no reset loops, and better memory performance. I do not have access to the music store, but that is fine by me, as I hear song quality really sucks.

possible QWERTY keyboard problem after ROM upgrade?

Hi all, new Mogul and first time ever PPC owner.

I updated mine this morning and everything seems to have gone fine. I was having storage card read/write issues and updating the ROM fixed that up.

However, I've just come across a rather odd problem. Typing an entry into the Live Search app (downloaded from Microsoft's site) doesn't produce any letters from the QWERTY keyboard! You can type, but it's as if the blue function key in the lower left-hand corner is permanently on. Before this morning's upgrade, I was able to type in it without issues. Other applications installed so far don't seem to do this.

Just to be sure it wasn't something else I installed or altered with registry editing, I did the following:

-removed the program, did a soft reset, and then reinstalled it
-restored a "clean" spb backup file made just after I finished flashing the ROM and installed it
-did a hard reset, and then installed it

Exact same keyboard problem in all cases.

Has any one else tried running this program and come across this? Or do I have some weird Mogul issue?

Crap, mine does the same thing. When I type with keyboard it only types the function keys. but by holding down the blue dot key on my keyboard does nothing, it still types with all the function keys ie. ?/&2@1. I'm gonna try to uninstall and reinstall. Well I uninstalled and reinstalled the newer version (2.x) and still the same thing.
