VZW Replaced My Titan With A Touch Pro

Verzion Wireless replaced my Titan that's been freezing with a Touch Pro, but they sent it out as a FRU (Field Replaceable Unit??). When I opened the box, it was just a phone.....there was no battery or case...

I've talked the rep into noting my account so that I can go by the corporate store later today and trade in my on 6800 battery for a 6850 battery on the spot.

I wanted to post this, so that if Verizon replaces your Titan with a Touch Pro, you won't get stuck in the same situation and I wanted everyone's opinion on whether or not I should try to exchange the case too.

You are a lucky man. But the verizon pro is so limited from everyone elses.

It's still an upgrade to what he had and he didn't have to buy it, so still a good deal.

Personal prefferece. For me, the Titan is better than the Verizon Pro.

how is it not an upgrade you say all the time that the ram issues suck and the TP has 3x the ram of the mogul so how in any way is it not an uprgrade

I know, the Mogul has severe RAM issues. But, despite those issues, it does NOT lag like the Verizon Touch Pro.

Its just we VZW users feel like if we wanna go to the TP we have to grab out ankles with no lube because Sprint didnt handicap thier device like VZW did (in several ways). I will say the TP is a slight upgrade from the 6800 but not enough for me to pay X amount to upgrade too PLUS add another 2 yrs on my contract or pay for one in full. A slight increase in RAM is not worth that to me. My 68 manages JUST fine. So some of the VZW users still feel shafted and the TP2 does not look any better. What else can you do except hold out for a while longer and see what else gets released or jump carriers?

This will be my last post in the Titan forums....

My Touch Pro is running rings around my Titan, I just need to get GPS working and I'll be set.

In my personal opinion, the Touch Pro performs well (with my customized ROM of course) and feels much faster than my Titan ever did. The extra memory is the key feature and even though it's crippled, it's still 10 times better than the Titan I had. I have to admit though, I probably really pushed the Titan to it's limits. I was running several IMAP accounts, OTA ActiveSync, and receiving 40 or 50 text messages a day from work. I really believe that if the Titan wasn't so memory limited I wouldn't have had an issue with it to begin with.
