thethering my 6800

Ok… back with even more questions… I was reading about tethering my mogul but felt I was trying to whisper in a crowded bar…. In other works too many people talking about everything. I’ve 6.1 running but I’ve read all you need is edit you reg and change “phone as a modem” to sprint pcs… Is that all I have to do? Others say I need to download a cab and install that then edit my reg. Can someone tell me how they are tethering running 6.1 (6800) without one of those paid programs (pdanet )?? Also, I have to old active syce that came with the phone (CD) should I upgrade to the newest version on MS home page?

1. I have read... been reading for two to three days now before i even asked one Question...did you read what I wrote?!?! I said they are 4 to 5 different ways people are telling how to do it. Some says to install the cab "internet sharing" some say all you have to do is connect thur internet sharing...some say you have to tweaks the reg... Some say go to PDAnet...some say the wwwifi.... one guy said he got a cab from a sprint rep..but that takes away the connect button....i don’t have internet at home so i have to find all information out now and do it later I'm at work doing work....

2. Have you taken a looked thru all the threads on tethering... They go here and there.... no one says the same thing

3. If you don’t have anything positive or helpful to say don’t say it at all in my thread...I'm not asking for your BS Mr. High Horse!! I'm sure you were new at one point

Re: thethering my 6800

Most of the tethering mention a CAB file which will make the reg edits for you. No need to install a regeditor if you want to USB tether with the built-in ICS.

WMWifiRouter is a different animal. It bridges your Sprint PCS data to the WiFI and lets you share your phone's internet that way.

Wanna USB tether to a WinXP/Vista PC? Use the cab method.

Got Linux/Mac? Might have no choice but to WMWifiRouter it.

I use this one. If you check several of them out, you will find they probably all do the same edits to the registry.
