The Mogul's BT stack is defective. No two ways about it and no BT headset will make it suddenly start working correctly. Everyone has to wait for HTC to possibly fix it sometime in the future.

Contacts at HTC?

Anyone here happen to know someone who works for HTC so they can get the inside scoop instead of a CS rep paid 50cents an hour in a third world country to take a call?

It would seem to me that if they can't get the BT prob fixed, I'll still be sporting the "silver brick" for a little longer...
I have 3 different BT headsets and they're all 'problematic' with the Titan!! It's hard to believe HTC did more than just rudimentary testing - actually, it's hard to believe they did ANY testing.

I never regularly used BT with my 6700, so for me not a big deal today - I can wait. But, for someone who is used to using BT, the Titan is clearly NOT functional.

I am using the Jabra BT620s. Now granted they are stereo headsets. However, people say I sound great. No choppiness. Plus I called myself on my landline just to make sure and clear crystal sound.

Again this might just be because they are stereo not the singular mono but so far so crystal.

Re: Official BT Headset/BT Stack Thread - Choppy Sound

I've worked for Sprint, T-mobile and Centennial so I had some open access to different bluetooths and phones. My current device I'll list is the 6800 - for Sprint.

One thing to keep in mind with bluetooth is that every manufacturer's BT frequency is slighty different and some may work good on phone and terrible on another.

Best BT headset used so far was the Motorola H-700. The headset had very good call quality and was barely noticeable on my ear. Did not cause headaches and ear aches like some headsets I've tried. The one rapid deterioration as the range from bluetooth to phone increased. Had to basically be right on my side for the quality to be at 100%

Jawbone - Worked very well for range and quality. Wasn't very comfortable on my ear, but that is dependant on the user.

Motorola H-500 - very choppy

Any Plantronics headset - Too many to list - All of them suck with this phone.

Samsung WEP 200 - Headset comfortabiliity was probably a 8/10. Sound quality was similar to the motorola h-700 in the sense that as long as the headset was close to your phone you could hear both ends almost perfectly. Background noise would cause this headset to be utterly useless with the 6800. Dont even think about walking through the mall rocking this headset... (not that anyone would notice the hearing aid size headset on your head anyways )

Blue Ant - any model - most of them sucked for quality with this phone. Although the blue ant Stereo bluetooth headset works very well for the media playback for this phone. But, of course when a call comes in and you switch to answer it... FAIL.. is the only word I can use for in call bluetooth quality for all the phones I used with it.

I've used a few more headsets with this phone, but I can't think of the models off hand right now, so if anyone wants more updates or any other stuff they want me to test out for them before they buy let me know. You can email me at support@techies4u.net or just visit my webpage at Techies4u.net.

This might indicate if it was really a hardwre issue since the Telus 4000 is using WM5.
I was using Bluetooth on the P4000 with WM5 and I had choppiness issues. I upgraded to WM6 and now i've also got spontaneous dropped calls due to the headset, choppiness, less distance....and WAY more aggravation!! Some upgrade.

I'm using a Motorola 700 headset
I am using the P4000 with Telus. With WM5, bluetooth works great, very clear, no cutting in and out. As soon as I upgraded to WM6, bluetooth became horrible to use, a few minutes into calls, the problems would start. This is using the Moto 850 and 700.

I have had my phone replaced...and used it with WM5 for a couple of days, bluetooth was excellent. But...tried upgrading to WM6, thinking the problem was with my device, bluetooth started acting up again.

i've had callers complain about choppy sounds when i'm using my sony ds970 and Siemens car kit. However, they usually start to complain about about 3 or 4 minutes into the conversation; but not always - i would venture to guess that it happens about 2 out of every 5 calls. The other three calls [of an appreciably long duration] seem fine. Shorter calls don't seem to exhibit the same problems.

anyone else with a similar experience?

Good News finally......
The bug associated with the current SW upgrade is scheduled to fixed in an MR next month and it also addresses the Bluetooth issue. I will keep everyone posted.

bigray327

why are you interest in Jetware mobile? for the phonebook sync capability?

I can happyily report that at least with the Parrot MK6100, the mogul will sync the phone book as well as show signal strength, network name and battery status WITHOUT jetware mobile

i tried with my friends older CK3100 and it was able to do signal strength netowrk name and battery status, didn't get to sync the phone book, but I found out later it may have been due to a pairing setting issue that I did not know about when i tested it.[/quote]
