Way to get GPS working (aGPS fix) without custom ROM?

Sounds good.....one more question, I have a phone plan with Verizion, but not an actually data plan for $29.95 or $44.95. I need one of those correct? Thanks!

you need a calling plan. you dont need a DATA plan to run GPS.

however googlemaps/live search use a data plan. hope that helps.

ps. if you have wifi, google maps and live search will run great.
