anyone one know how to make the phone read an 8gig sd card?

Please help. Just got this phone but doesn't read an 8gig card. Does anyone have a .cab file or any info on how to do?

Let us know your setup. Phone,carrier, version of Windows Mobile, etc. so we can be of more help.

I had a problem with my 8GB card and it went away when I upgraded to WM6.1.

I have a VX6800 with VZW running Windows Mobile 6.

if you use a newer rom, you should be fine.

I upgraded to 6.1 (alltel) last week and stuck an 8gig in it last night, No problems at all... except the usual reset every 3-4 hours.

Okay. I know when I had my Treo 700wx there was a .cab file to make it read 4gigs. Is the ROM upgrade for VZW users? I noticed alot of Sprint users upgraded to 6.1.

you have a TP listed as your phone under your UN but a 6800 listed in your sig line. i figured you were talking about the TP since you said you just got the phone. if its the 6800 then upgrading to 6.1 should fix it. i thought i read somewhere about a cab that would up the recognized GB's on the 6800 but not sure if i saw that here or over on XDA.

Not only do you have the option of upgrading to a stock rom, you have the option of miking and matching the best from all the current phones, windows mobile versions and software by making your own rom with a "kitchen." do a little reading in the update forum or the stickies. you may really like what you find.
