I got upgraded 4 free from a 6700 to a 6800 a while back. Just be polite and don't make it seem like your looking for a free upgrade.. A lot of people march into sprint shouting about how they want a free upgrade.. Think about it...Who would u wnna help more if you were them? It took me a few trips to sprint but paid off. The way I see it is, if sprint is gonna keep replacing my phone with a refurb, when I'm paying every month for TEP, then I'm bringing it back the second it acts up! Good luck bro!

There's 2 stickers, white when moisture contacts them they turn red. You can change them not very hard.


You insurance covers water damage anyway so dont worry about it.

i was so pissed (expected when dealing with sprint)

I got there at 6:96 (checked in). They took the phone and never called me. Said it would take 45 mins. I left at 7:30 after arguing with people. my account has over 10 lines. The main account name is one thing. I manage the account so have access to all necessary info... even though I gave MY name, they logged it in under the main name. Would you think after they saw my *** they could say "hey dude, your phone is up?" HELL NO!

So, after arguing, they are going to order another "new" mogul for me. I said is it gonna be refurb or new? "It'll be new" yahhhhhh righttttt

So i canceled that because they wanted me to go back on wednesday... i'm not even local to that store. i'm in between 2 and one is closer to where i work, but it's sat so no i'm not there.

SO that was 1 thing. Here's a lesson to everyone: the Rumor is a POS! Yes, it is a POS. Not only is there not software to manage your contacts through usb but, i put my 2gb sd card in there from my mogul as to protect my sensitive info and the fookin phone FORMATED THE CARD. omgzzzzzzzzzzzzz hahaha i was SO UPSET! but i didn't find this out until i got my titan back. I was trying to restore my #'s and there was nothing on my sd card. SO upset. arrrrrrrg

so now i'm going to call and threaten to start closing lines down (which gets you customer retention) and hopefully they'll replace the mogi.

The worst part about this guys, is after all that, i still was stupid enough to ask "well, i'm interested in purchasing the touch pro, can you show it to me" and the girl said "i'll put you on the list so the next available rep can help you." OMG there are a gang of sprint retards standing around doing nothing. I have no idea what their function is! REALLY! Like 6 of them just standing around. wtf? so 6:08 to 7:30 and i couldn't even get them to easily sell me an expensive phone. i might be a little heated and biased but, this has always been the experience i go through with sprint arrrrg#@!^^#!*!111...

That's why i don't feel bad scamming them when I can get away with it because of this ****e!

TEP = Total Equipment Protection which is basically insurance + extended warranty.

Since his phone suffers physical damage (water in this case) it is covered by insurance (hense the $50 deductable). He won't walk out of there with any phone, Mogul or otherwise, without paying his deductable.

I didn't add the other poster to the quote list, but Sprint does at least owe him a replacement phone (as long as he pays his deductable) as he pays for insurance for the damage he suffered.

Wrong!!! Water damage is not covered by TEP. You need to read the terms of the agreement.

Well in my neck of the woods it did cover Water damage for a replacement Mogul, maybe I just got lucky?

Water damage is covered by TEP, not covered by an in-store swap. If you have a water damaged phone you have to go through assurion and pay the $50 for a recon.

I don't see why people think because they have insurance that swapping a Mogul for a TP is a foregone conclusion. Don't drink the kool aid from the people on here who have gotten that straight up "trade" successfully. they just got extremely lucky with the person the got on the phone, in store or via email, or they're full of sh1t! If you have a damaged Mogul, it's gonna be replaced with a refurb, or a new Mogul until they don't have them anymore...

I will admit I got extremely lucky to have somebody from Sprint agree to send me a TP in exchange for my Mogul.. I had to pay the $30 dollar difference between the price of the two devices, but I was able to do it.. What Dak said is true about getting a damaged Mogul replaced by a refurb... He is 100% correct on that.. I wish everybody could get Sprint to upgrade them, but its mostly luck...

Ok so what's gonna happen with me is this:

The phone i canceled on saturday wasn't really canceled lol So i'll be picking up a new titan (in box supposedly). Over the phone with retention department they said it would be refurb. So that's working out for me at least.

Next because I threatened to close 3 of my 11 lines cust retention said they'll qualify me for a new customer purchase of the touch pro. They called the local store and told them to hook it up for $200. So I go to the store and they're out of stock, will have it within 2 weeks and they'll call me up. I should mention I am getting a $100 mail in rebate, so it'll be $300 up front and then -$100 mail in rebate.

So there you have it. I'll try to update when something happens! Sprint sucks, as do our other options, but sometimes you have to play their games.

Just so you guys know, I tried going about all this the right way, they're the ones who weren't being cool. Trying to sell me the phone for $429. That's rediculous! Especially with 11 lines, I know I ALWAYS have upgrades available which is why we're always getting new phones left and right.

Their latest screw up is with the picture mail app. I downloaded, tried installing and it said there's a $5 a month fee for picture mail. I was like hmm, I have the "unlimited power vision pack." Why would I have to pay? I called cust srv and they said "no fee for you, you're good because of your plan." Cool, accepted on the next screen and 2 weeks later getting billed for it. The cust srv rep said "you already get unlimited inet for free, just pay the $5." I said "do you know why I get it for free?" lol Because of all the problems i've had with sprint. Such as my $2000 monthly bill that should have really been $600.

SO! I always try first being a normal customer, but when they give me the usual BS of "Sorry, you gotta pay" then I threaten to close a gang of lines and they come around. Some of you might have seen my posts of the 4 rumors i got for friends a while back lol. Well, in the end it ends up ok but it's still very frustrating!#!#@!#!

Hope I don't sound like a jerk! :P
