Why????

Does sprint give you crap refub phones? Hi all I am new to the 6800 club as my 6700 keyboard died and they gave me a 6800 as a replacement. I tried a quick search and did not find anything so since I recived the phone yesterday I have been unable to connect to the internet via wifi( wouldnt be such a huge deal as I do have data but no service in my home with this phone grrrr) also the phone has obvious signs of physical wear and looks to have been dropped a bit before it made it to me( the battery cover also does not fit right). Also when i type it repeats several of the keys mostly the s key so I guess now i type with a lisp?? If there are any fixes I would really appriciate it, or should i call customer care and try to get another refurb?

Thanks
Austan

Re: Why????

I would call back in and get another sent out to you. Theres no reason for one to have been sent out like that.

Re: Why????

depending on how far you are from the sprint store go everyday until they order you a NEW phone.

I have the complete coverage insurance and they tried to brush me a off with not only a refurbished phone but a defective one at that, 3 clearly visible and predominant white spots. after about a week of everyday visits they got me a BRAND NEW still in the box phone.

Re: Why????

Regarding the wifi, does the 6700 have the same physical switch for wifi that the 6800 has.

Re: Why????

ya I live like 23 miles from the repair center and everytime I go there it is like 1 hour min wait time. I think Ill just call and talk with customer care as I hate the service center. Thank you all for your responses and listing to me rant.

No, the 67 has no wifi switch on the side or even at all. It is software based in the communications screen. Also, keep in mind the 67 only did 802.11b on WEP whereas the 68 will do 802.11b/g on WEP and WPA(2).

So, Austan, even though you are returning it, have you checked the wifi switch?
