Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)
Great. Now go away...
For everyone else, this does work as many have stated, and I eventually got the upgrade after a couple of swaps and speaking with retentions. Don't let any naysayers tell you different, some are jealous, some work for sprint, and some are married to their mogul and accepts it for better or worse. I paid $500 for mine, and personally I wasn't content with the defects which were not mentioned at time of purchase. However, you will still be playing the odds for a while as they have a number of old moguls dieing around which they still keep in circulation. I've had the TouchPro for about a week now, and it works great. I heard that the first batch of them apparently weren't so great. Yes I would be very disappointed if in a few months it slowly develops the 4 white blotches on the screen like the mogul did. However, I'll take comfort knowing how little I paid for it as well as knowing I can switch it out if desired and do the same.

What's in a name? That which we call a genius by any other name would be just as smart. I beat up Sprint and all I have to show for it is this lousy When you were in diapers and wetting the sheets I was out hacking with the ppcgeeks. |

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)
Ok...I know I am going to regret this but I AM one of those technicians. I have to say that the Mogul/Titan/6800, whatever you want to call it, has overall been a VERY good device. I see people in here complaining of little things like IE not being good for anything but the simplest of web pages. Not True. It does have its limits but if you don't like it...Opera, Skyfire are two great choices. The white spot...oh well...I can think of a current device that I think all persons who purchased the device should get a refund (can not name device so don't ask please). The Gps did work in the begining but you had to buy a GPS "puck" just like virtually every other PDA Sprint carried at the time. I will admit I think it was a mistake to put such a small ammount of mem on a windows device but you live you learn. I myself have had this phone for 9 months. I have flashed it 4 diff times to diff custom roms. I have hacked, cracked, sliced the crap out of the os and 3rd party programs. And I will say this...it is still my ORIGINAL PHONE. I see phones come in all beat to crap and they say "half my keys will not work" and it looks like the skipped it down the highway. Take care of your phone and it will take care of you. I waited out every update. EVERY phone has updates that fix issue and this is no different. Some people are to much of a perfectionist. If you want perfection your not gonna find it. Now back to the original post...yes there are many many Moguls that have the white spot on the phone and we do not know what causes it. I speculate overheating, leaving in the car, things like this can cause screen issues.

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)
Great. More evidence. ^
Admission of the: limits of IE and the need to used different browser. white spots. gps not functioning in the beginning. (although it was always advertised as GPS functional...no disclaimer about needing a puck lol...nice try) mistake to put such a small amount of memory. Well, that doesn't address all the issues with the device, but really only one issue is all that is needed for a return...despite what was said (but then deleted):"no sprint store should exchange this issue because it is not hindering the use of the device" lol I had a one year manufacturing warranty that covers the defects, as well as the more often used TEP. Total Equipment Protection Total Equipment Protection Total Equipment Protection combines all of the coverage of the Equipment Replacement Program and the Equipment Service and Repair Program in one complete package.

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)
You seem like one of those customers that comes in and thinks you should just get your way because your right and everybody else is wrong. I see people like you all the time. "I dropped a call, I want a replacement" "I have had 2 replacements I want to be upgraded and not have to pay for it" I deleted that just to avoid this. Yes...If it does NOT hinder the everyday functioning of the device the store IS NOT responsible for exchanging the device but it can be done at the managers discression If it is that big of an issue to the cust they are refered to Asurion. As i said NO device is perfect. It does not exist. And as for the manufacturer warranty it is just that, a MANUFACTURER WARRANTY not a Sprint warranty.
And by the way...that HTC Pro your using has Opera on it because of the browser so it is apparantly not just sprint that says use a diff browser. Last edited by hellcat2007; 11-12-2008 at 11:47 AM. |
