The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

The Mogul should have been recalled from the start.
98% of Mogul owners have the exact same complaints of this phone, one of which is the quarter inch sized white spots that develop permanently on the screen after the phone overheats once or twice.
I've dealt with 3 Sprint stores, several reps on the dial #2 hotline, retentions, and even the Escalation Management Team. Only the last one offered the TP at $299.
I'm not sure how this is suppose to be a reasonable deal, because when we purchased the Mogul we were not told that it would have the 3 fatal flaws which are inherit to every Mogul device. Therefore, we should be able to get our money back, or failing that, allow us to pay the difference of cost of any other phone they have. Sounds fair to me, and I got many other Sprint reps to agree...but then they essentially say "Sorry, we don't work that way".

They have an effective method of passing the buck via sending you to the "repair" store, waiting in line, waiting for the tech to essentially tell you what you already know, waiting for another Mogul with all the same flaws, sending you from one rep to another, then to Asurion (who can't do squat about getting upgrades), then to retentions, and then (if you're lucky) to the Escalation Management Team...just to be told $299 is how much YOU have to pay for them to help you get YOUR phone problem resolved.
After-all, didn't you read the agreement that you signed that relieves them of all obligation to help you in the event that your phone model has defects that occurs like a time bomb?
It doesn't matter if the screen becomes nearly unusable, after-all, you didn't have the problem when you bought it, after-all you can still use it.
Most people likely think that the problems they see in these devices are from something they caused themselves....and that's exactly what the reps will lead you to believe...but some of us know better, and it only takes a little research on the internet to find the truth.

Many others say that the Touch should have been recalled as well, but I'm not as familiar with it's issues. It's up to each individual to force the recall on their individual phone.
It only makes good business sense for Sprint to allow people to believe they (the individual customer) is the cause of their phone problems...as long as people are accepting it anyway, and as long as it influences them to buy another product and extend their contract.

To make an effective stand, we should all just keep going back and returning our defective units (which are all of them) until they run out of Moguls or acknowledge the problem and simply allow us to swap phones and pay the difference of costs between any other model of choice.

I'm already hearing they have periodically run out of this unit in some places and are replacing with Touch Pros.

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

Didn't we do this dance already?

I've never seen these spots (seriously) can someone post a photo of them, and exactly how hot do you need to make the device to get them (and what do you do to make it that hot?)

I must be in the 2% w/o complaints. Mine works fine.

Remind me again what the 3 fatal flaws are?

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

I understand what white spots Raging idiot are speaking of because my last mogul did the same thing. I also had an issue with the keyboard slowing becoming unresponsive to pressing it. i spent 50 bucks and they sent me another mogul. I am to the point now though that I probably should try and get the touch pro from ecare as if i call asurion they will try to send me another mogul and call it a day. So far though I have only had a few issues with my phone freezing up on me and not responding to any of my inputs.

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

Another 2% er here, I love my two 6800's at this point.

I did do a ton of tweaking/flashing to get to this point but so what?? I have never seen any computer I was happy with when it was stock out of the box (That's why except for laptops I always build my own).

I am even happier this week than I was last week as I went & played with a Touch Pro rather extensively & was not one bit impressed with it (+ my boss bought one & has already returned it)so I have no desire to upgrade.

By the way, 99.9% of the Mogul/Titan etc owners have never heard of this site & are probbably perfectly content with their dead stock purchase..........

that 99.9% is way off... i have many friends who arent as tech savy as me who i advised to pick up the mogul... boy did i ever regret it because since they knew me as 'ppcgeek guy' they thought i could 'hack away' the white spots and all the other internal issues such as phantom alarms ect...

I also know them to be true because I replaced 4 moguls personally. It got so bad this last time that they put me into a Diamond free of charge so i know the problems persist. If you've never seen them, I'm happy for you, but you're in the gross minority of mogul users. Go sit in a sprint store for a few hours and just see how many come in with mogul issues...

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

I'll just say this... there was an interesting post on the Sprint tech's forum (the forum discussing inventory/problems with handsets/etc) concerning these white spots. Yeah, they really do exist, but we're pretty much out of luck. What's even worse is the quality control on the refurbs sucks, so customers are getting refurbs with the white spots. Pretty jacked up.

Re: The Last Stand (Force a Mogul Recall)

Honestly I think it's Sprint Moguls only that have 99% of the complaints here. I mean the white spot complaint is not unique to Sprint (I have one), but honestly my phone is in good shape.
