Its unlikely but possible that you live somewhere where there is EVDO service but no broadband, but it seems unlikely. I won't discount it.

This casual breaking of the TOS is overlooked by Sprint when the usage is sporadic and low (ie, now and then connect tethered to laptop) but they will eventually flag this kind of use.

I suggest you consider it if this is your home broadband. If for no other reason then you'll toast your phone after a few months...

Re: Does anyone else use wmwifirouter all day long?

Hey guys, I check my data usage on my two lines:
My "wmwifirouter" mogul= 2GB/month average
My "regular, non-tethered mogul= 3GB/month average
Yes, I stream a lot of slingplayer mobile, orb, download podcasts, and download some torrents directly to my phone. vs. my home pc conneciton which I use for general browsing, email, transferring files, and printing.
So basically, even my 2GB/month usage on my mogul via wmwifirouter is less than my ppc using evdo without wmfifirouter. How can sprint tell me i'm using too much bandwidth?
P.S. I have microsoft autoupdates disabled. :P

wildblue looks cool, but you can't take it everywhere with you like an aircard or mogul. I enjoy using my mogul & laptop ala wmwifi while waiting for an oil change, waiting at the airport between flights etc.. It's soo handy!

Ever since I got my Mogul I've used it as my primary internet connection. I downloaded movies, torrented games, downloaded music, surfed the web, IMed, etc. I averaged well over 10GB in data usage per month. And that was with sharing it over my router with my roommate. I've never once been contacted by Sprint and my account was never terminated. It is definitely possible and obviously Sprint is lax on the issue.

You're living life on the edge. The casual and minor breaking of the TOS is overlooked by Sprint, but you are abusing it. I can't imagine that they haven't at least looked at your account yet. They've just decided not to warn you ....yet. I don't even average over 10GB a month on my broadband connection over cable.

The data usage is not a breach of the TOS. Using your phone as a wifi router and sharing the EVDO connection with other devices IS a breach of the TOS.

Re: Does anyone else use wmwifirouter all day long?

I am almost 100% certain if I used mine as a primary internet I would be flagged if not straight out terminated seeing that my average month of bandwidth at my home is 300-400GB Down and 100-200GB up.
