Hacks for Dummies!!

Hi:

I am a newbie to all the hacks and (registry) tweaks and was wondering what is an "AKU" and what is the difference between AKU 3.3 is compared to AKU 3.5? How does one upgrade the ROM on the 6800? Is there a site for Dummies on how to do this that includes hacks and tweaks explained to a person with an equivalent to a 60 IQ? LOL

Thanks!!

**Please be nice!**

POCKET PC 6800

HEY LATTISIMO (OR ANYONE WHO KNOWS THE ANSWER!!!), IM WONDERING HOW THE BATTERY LIFE IS ON THE 6800, MY 6700 IS ALWAYS DYING, IT HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN.

ALSO, ANY NEWS ON A RELEASE DATE? MY 6700 IS MESSING UP AND SPRINT HAS OFFERED TO GIVE ME A TREO 700W... OR I COULD WAIT FOR THE 6800, WHAT DO YOU THINK? TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE SPECS OF BOTH!!!

LAST QUESTIONS, CAN YOU OPEN ATTACHMENTS FROM YOUR EMAIL ON THE 6800?

THANKS!!!!!!!

the battery life has improved some. i used it for 16hrs off of external power with the screen brightness all the way up and the IR port and BT on for the entire time. i did not use the wifi or talk for more the 1oo minutes that day and about 20 text messages. now the battery was at 10% or less but it made the day just fine.

also... 6800 or 700wx?? ummm... no comparison at all. the 700wx may have it in battery life but just barely, now the 6700 has wifi (802.11g), better keyboard, better screen (320x240), over 2X the storage memory, ITS NOT A TREO (sorry did i say that out loud), rev A upgradeable, and likely WM6 are enough reasons. Almost forgot, it is much THINNER than the 700wx.

there should be no thinking about it.

what types of attachments? i have been able to open attachments for files that i have program associations for... which is the same as my 6700.

ATTACHMENTS

Well, on my 6700 I am not able to open any attachments through yahoo email. Such as pictures, information that work has sent me through an email attachment, nothing!!!

And wow that the 6800 is thinner than the treo, thats a HUGE improvement!!!

Have you any idea at to when it may be coming out?

Speculation says 5/14 or 5/15 for Sprint. Not sure about Verizon though...

Some users that apparently work for Sprint and went to a device training actually reported it was pushed back to end of June/beginning of July so that it comes out with Rev. A.

I'm just saying what I read, I really have no idea...

Battery life is much improved thanks to it being a Lithium Polymer battery.

Currently, there is no known way to upgrade or hack the ROM on the 6800. We're working on it.
