Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

When I plug my phone into the USB cable it won't install the 3 devices that it's supposed to install. Any ideas? I have installed the WModemdrivers several times and it says they have been installed. Still, when I plug my phone in it pops up the install wizard, but no matter what option I pick it won't install the new hardware. I have a XV6900 running NFSFAN's v12 WM6.5 ROM and I'm running Windows XP 64-bit. Thanks in advance.

There is an issue with his rom. I dont know why but everyone on here who is having trouble has a NFSFAN Rom. This fix isnt rom specific, Any rom will work, but his doesnt for some strange reason. maybe he cut too much **** out to make it run faster and lost some necessary files. who know.

Flash a different ROm is the only way to get it to work then flash back.

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

Dumb question.

Do I install the Serf Telus aGPS.cab and the Shadow-Tech_AGPS_REG_Verizon.cab?
I have a 6900 using nsfs 6.5 rom and on Verizon’s network.

Thanks!

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

Still Can't get this to work.
Windows 7RC
Verizon 6900
NSFN V12 mobile 6.5 rom
I downloaded Wmodemdriverinstaller.exe from the first post and installed it. The install drives button was grayed out so I am not sure if they installed correctly or not.
I then installed the qpst from the first page
I plug my phone in and then do the ##3424# and put it in diag mode but it detects it as a Palm Treo Modem. I do not see the 'HTC Diagnostic Interface' under the LTP ports
I opened qpst and it detected my phone. I was able to read from phone.
I changed the settings on the 'gpsOne' tab and wrote it to the phone successfully. I even rebooted the phone and went through and read from phone again and made sure the settings stuck and they did.
I went ahead and made the reg key setting changines and then did the soft renoot again
Still no luck. I have tried the the telus servers and the altel servers with no luck.
Any suggestions?
Is the issue because it is getting detected as a Palm Treo modem instead of a the 'HTC Diagnostic Interface'? It seems like I can write and read to the phone ok
One odd thing though is that on the gpsOne tab all the boxes are grayed out so I cannot change them. They are all checked however.
This seems like it should be easy but it is not working for me.

Thanks!

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

u need to ungrey them then recheck them, so it is a black check in a white box, NOT a black check in a grey box.

duh! not sure why I didn’t try that before. Unchecking them and rechecking them made it so they were not greyed out. i wrote the change to the phone and then reconnected to read from phone and the settings did stay.

I think everything QPST side should be working even though windows 7 detects it as a Palm Pre Modem. (I did not have to install the drivers for windows 7 to detect it) I am still confused on what IP address I should use and if in need to install the serf agps cab found on the link below.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=VerizonAGPSFix

I have tried the 66.174.95.132 ip in qpst and registry with no luck. I have tried altels ip address in qpst and the registry with no luck.

I am also confused on why the screen shot in the link above shows to use the ip 66.174.95.132 but his instructions say to use 216.198.139.92

From my understanding is that the 216.. ip is Verizon’s ip and that has been shut off. Am I correct with that statement?

Thanks again!

Re: Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon

after doing some more looking inot this i realized the 64..ip is verizons which was shu off. the 216.. ip is teluses ip.

i am still unable to get this to work with telus or alltel.

I wonder if i need to upgrade my radio. right now i am using verizons latest with their 6.1 update.
