XV6800: How do I stop the wifi from turning off when the screen goes off?

I am using PDAnet 2.0 and am able to connect to my phone via an ad-hoc WIFI connection properly, but as soon as the backlight on the screen goes off automatically after 30 seconds, or I manually turn it off, the wifi connection goes dead. Any ideas on how to get the wifi radio to stay on/connected when the screen is turned off...? Appreciate all replies

EDIT Looking at the registry I see autopowermodedozemode set to 2, wonder if it's altered it might fix this?
