XV6800: How do I stop the wifi from turning off when the screen goes off?

I am using PDAnet 2.0 and am able to connect to my phone via an ad-hoc WIFI connection properly, but as soon as the backlight on the screen goes off automatically after 30 seconds, or I manually turn it off, the wifi connection goes dead. Any ideas on how to get the wifi radio to stay on/connected when the screen is turned off...? Appreciate all replies !

EDIT Looking at the registry I see autopowermodedozemode set to 2, wonder if it's altered it might fix this?

Look for PocketToolman, it's a free app, handy tools & tweaks. It has a setting to change WiFi disconnect behavoir.

You need to have something running in the background to keep the phone awake OR you can adjust your power settings to not turn off and then change them back later once you are done.

Thanks Turnkeys, I actually had that installed already but hadn't noticed the tweak, works perfectly!

Re: XV6800: How do I stop the wifi from turning off when the screen goes off?

Doh, installed DCD 2.36 ROM and 3.42.50 radio, now pocket toolman's "keep wifi while sleep" setting doesn't work. Any other way to manually do this? Forcing the screen to stay on isn't an option, as it would suck the battery dry quickly and I also want to keep the phone in my pocket while browsing on the laptop.

Tried the setting I said in the OP but it has no effect... might just give up and use a USB cable , liked the wireless solution though if anyone has any ideas. My google-fu is failing.

GoldenTiger:
What were you running prior to DCD 3.2.6 and the newest radio?, that it worked in? have you let DCD know?
