Streaming music skipping in stand-by mode?

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem as well. Whenever I stream online music (i.e. Orb, XMradio) and I put the device to stand-by it'll start skipping every 15-30 seconds. However if I leave the screen on it won't skip at all. Does anyone know what's causing this? Could it be outdated WMV codecs?
