Interesting it does work in that folder too..

but you can use mp3 just checked.. doesnt really matter but mp3's sound way better than wav files..smaller size too.

okay so I understand that in order for me to have the misic I WANT..I must change to wav files. So, I have mp3 files that are on my windows media player and I do not know how to change them to wav files so I can use it. Please help

by the way. i took one of my mp3 song to:

and it is just sitting there. where do i go from here. i went to sound& notifications to chnge the sounds for text, email and so forth and the song is not there..confused..

I wouldn't place an entire song for your text notification..as far as my experiences go, the phone will play the entire file/song as a notification. If you placed the sound it the folder and it doesnt show in settings>sounds then it probably is just to large of a file..I use Audacity to crop the portion of a song I want, you can get it here. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
After getting the sound bite i want, i put it into iTunes and convert it to AAC format so the file size is smaller, just have to drag and drop into the library and then right click and select convert selection to AAC

Ok first u dont have to change them to wav unless u want, now listen carefully gone get a little tricky. first select the song u want to use then next copy and paste it to windows anywhere but in a folder next got to sounds and settings locate the file should play next assign it to incoming messages and your done. also you can go to NCH download a program called slice then create your own ringtones with the length and section of a song you want its a limited free trial so do as many songs as you want b4 it expires in 30 days.

Audio Manager and MP3 Trimmer do that also and they are free..

so does the diamond mp3 trimmer over at xda and its ran through the phone itself. really handy if your on the road alot.

Those 2 are also run through the phone....never seen the Diamond 1 though I will give it a shot....

huh maybe its cuz I use cooked roms maybe thats why I can use mp3's

To convert to wav you can use Super..its free and works great.
