Is there anything I can do to make this phone work on my local network or do I just need to give up and find someone else that could use it on a bigger network?

Pioneer wireless? This phone is unlocked so it can have any rom for the 6800 put on it. What I would do is call back but just say that you are a prospective new client and are interested in the 6800 the offer, then ask for what support they offer for the phone, ask how can you download the stock rom that came with the device they sell. If you can download the stock rom from pioneer, the phone being unlocked will allow you to flash it. I would mabye make another thread and name it "Pioneer wireless 6800 rom HELP". By the way this is Blazersst69 from ebay.
