Alert for all nueROM 2.1 5069 users - "beta test has concluded message"
Description: WM 6.1 builds 19919, 19949 which were used in nueROM 2.1 5069, 5069b-j contain a timebomb which will cause the device to freeze at a message that says "the beta test of this software has concluded...". This is a timebomb inserted by Microsoft to beta builds of WM to ensure they are not in production use by OEMS.
Who is affected: All nueROM v2.1 build 5069x users. Solution: Build 5069-k contains a patch that resolves to issue. All users of nueROM build 5069 are encouraged to update their device firmware to 5069-k. You can find a copy of build 5069-k here: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/No2Chem/ Because you will not be able to connect to activesync, follow these steps to flash the rom on your device: 1. Enter the bootloader by holding Power+Camera, then pressing the soft reset button with your stylus. 2. Connect the device via USB to your computer. The display on your device in the white area should read "USB". 3. Start the RUU with the RUU_Signed.nbh image for 5069-k. 4. Follow the instructions in the RUU. If your device does not boot up for the first time after flashing, take the battery out for thirty seconds, then put it back in and restart your device. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience the timebomb may have caused you.

Keep it in this forum. Since most people with a bombed phone will see it on the first page when they click into the Mogul forum. Thanks for the quick solution No2chem. Paypal donation sent.

Re: Alert for all nueROM 2.1 5069 users - "beta test has concluded message"
Another way would be to load the ROM off a Micro SD card.
1. Rename RUU_signed.nbh to TITAIMG.nbh and copy it to a MicroSD that is 2 gigs or less that is formated FAT32 in the root directory. 2. Enter the bootloader by holding Power+Camera, then pressing the soft reset button with your stylus. 3. You will see the rainbow boot screen for a second, then it will prompt you to "Press power button to start update image". Hit power, then it will flash it for you. When it is complete, just puss the soft reset with your stylus. 4. If your device does not boot up for the first time after flashing, take the battery out for thirty seconds, then put it back in and restart your device. |
