Re: 6800 not syncing!! Please Help!
I started having the same problem on 6/14, running Vista. It's definitely the computer, I can sync the phone on a different computer.
In event viewer, I'm getting: Windows Mobile-based device failed to connect due to Start USB Connection (0x80004005) failure I've tried the obvious - break partnership, uninstall/reinstall device center pieces, system restore to before the problem started, turning off firewall (onecare), making sure advanced is unchecked on USB, trying a different USB port/cable, etc. Anyone else suddenly seeing this? Any other suggestions for fixes? Thanks. |

Take a look. The problem I have had with vista and sync is not the mobile device center, but the driver install for the PPC. Right click "My Computer", Get to "Device Manager" and uninstall the usb device for the Mogul (it is not in the usual usb device location). Use Killsync (or CTRL ALT DEL) to shutdown activesync on the PC and restart activesync manually then reconnect the device. Works for me. |

Quote:
I tried connecting my MP3 player, and the system saw it as a USB drive, but did not make it available for sync in WMP. I took out the MP3 player, rebooted, connected my Mogul again, and again it hung at "connecting to server". But this time, I checked Task Manager and noticed wmplayer.exe was running. I killed it, and immediately the Mogul started to sync! That sync was successful, but there haven't been any more automatic syncs, and trying a manual one hung. (And I just checked, and wmplayer.exe is not running.) Anyone have a guess at why wmplayer is hanging the process, and what to do about it? Thanks! eric |
