TCPMP Settings with ORB please?

I know this subject has been covered before, but I want to see if anyone can help, I think my case is a little different. I have TCPMP on the newest version, and can ply Youtube just fine no choppiness.

I have music videos in mp4 format that didnt play before, but I got a codec or something that makes it work with mp4 now and it does, but the videos are choppy on my mogul. I use the videos on my laptop and they are fine.

I just got a TV tuner and I can stream now from my desktop, but it streams choppy and loads every 10 or so seconds. I have adjusted the buffer settings to: normal buffer-1120kb, preload at underrun- 25%, preload audio-64%,
microdrive mode not checked.
under advanced tab, I have Manual A/V offset +/- to 400 msec.
under video settings, i have raw framebuffer selected

I know speed could be an issue with internet drops, but I had a pretty good signal. I will check on wifi to see if it is still choppy. My PC specs are up to par, but I will increase my ram from 512 soon just in case, I am only running orb on this. Also, i do have all file associations checked with tcpmp.

I can stream audio with no issues at all via orb and music stations online.

If anyone can suggest some sort of settings with tcpmp or even wmp I would be greatfull!

Re: TCPMP Settings with ORB please?

you may or may not have done this already, but make sure your video drivers are set to GDI or RawFrameBuffer

Also how fast does is your internet upstream on your PC, that may be an issue as well as orb may not be compressing the stream enough

Re: TCPMP Settings with ORB please?

Thank you for the constructive reply, I do have it set to raw buffer. When I am connected to Orb on my pc and watch tv through orb it streams fine, zero lag.

Re: TCPMP Settings with ORB please?

When you first try to stream on your phone it should
perform a speed test.

What is the result?

If the test comes back lower than lets say
150kb then that might be your issue.

Also in your orb settings on the phone
you should check in what format it is
streaming in.

I use .asf and have no issues.

Re: TCPMP Settings with ORB please?

Ok I was wrong, I double checked and my PC hosting my orb is maxing out 100% when running orb. I just ordered 2 gigs of ram for it so it should work better.

The stream from orb on the host pc is even choppy, so it would make sense if the phone is choppy too, I thought it wasnt but it really is.

The phone speed on my mogul says 460kb right now with a crappy connection.

At best the audio streams with no hiccups, but the video looks more like a quick slide show....

does ANYONE actually have this running so TV actually looks good and fluid? just curious. Having it working and having it working well are 2 different things.
