Re: Navizon - Get paid to use your GPS w/ the 6800!

no, not really... just kinda quite caring at the moment. I still only get 1 or 2 cell's unless I'm roaming. I just started turning the phone on roam when going into a "new" area, then switching back to auto for the return trip an to sync. (stupid 300kb limit on roam now...)
the hang when stopping navizon is still present for me as well.

I was hoping a new version is on the way with some new features, but it seems we got trumped by the iphone again...

edit; I did see brendo posted he was getting VisualStudio, so maybe we'll see a collectors edition again...

Seems it is a small update to make the wifi count more accurate.

I'm still here to help too!

Re: Navizon - Get paid to use your GPS w/ the 6800!

Anyone else having problems with this new update? Sometimes there's a big lag between cell and wifi count updates. As much as five minutes. I don't remember such a long lag time in other version. Also, sometimes the program freezes up, which in turn freezes my phone, and a soft reset is required. A real pain. I'm using a Sprint Mogul, running dcd's 3.2.5 ROM.

I don't really pay attention to the count display anymore, as there has always been an undetermined delay time.. as far as freezing goes, I havn't noticed it yet, and only had it a few times in 3.5.1.2.

Re: Navizon - Get paid to use your GPS w/ the 6800!

ok, well, I figured this would happen... this version still freezes when attempting to "Stop" I have however figured out how to re-create.. if you try to stop right after a point (AP or Cell) is collected then it will hang... it seems as if navizon is still writing to it's db file and trying to stop during this confuses it.. anyway, I thought I'd post it here first and see if others can replicate before posting @ navizon.

Re: Navizon - Get paid to use your GPS w/ the 6800!

I have noticed the same, if you do a sync w/ Navizon, then within a minute or so, try to stop it, it will virtually always freeze the ap.

Work around: You can terminate Navizon, and avoid a soft reset (if you use WkTASK, this is very quick and easy, just tap and hold on Navizon in the program bar, click terminate).

I have even been able to later re-open Navizon with no soft reset.

good, TTBOMK(to the best of my knowledge) this does narrow it down to the database.
I assume you (any ppcgeek) have wifi around at home or work, I do. I can start navizon, wait for gps locating to show, then start my wifi, (timing is weird) but there are 2 wifi's that can be detected from my desk. if I press stop after navizon shows 1 wifi (but before 2 shows) it will hang.

I use Quickmenu to do the same.

edit: jsut realized nuguy's way is basically the same circustances that I explained, mine was just from a fresh start.
also best way to avoid this; stop before sync (if planning on stopping) since the new versions let us do it this way.

Re: Navizon - Get paid to use your GPS w/ the 6800!

Shaggy, I have been having more trouble with stopping Navizon before syncing w/ the newest version.

So here's what I do:

Open, and start Navizon.
I just let it run as long as I am traveling.
I only sync when I have reached my destination.
I then let it sit for a couple minutes, click stop, and sync again before closing.
Even if it freezes, I haven't been losing any of my data.

On a side note, I am seeing way more cells showing in the newest version, but I think they are ghosts (duplicating the same cell over) are you seeing this too?
