Well I went to my local rep yesterday and she printed out some info for me. Supposedly there are 2 phones so far coming out, expected around April 18th. They are the Pro200 and Pro700 from Sanyo. So far all they are are drawings no actual pictures. They are not calling it QChat but are going to continue to call it Nextel Direct Connect however it will be able to connect to Sprint and Nextel users. They had the hybrids out for a while but they only worked for phone service on the Sprint Network and they did not roam so coverage was spotty. They used the Nextel network for PTT. The new service from what I read are going to be using the data connection to connect and will utilize the one number for phone and direct connect similiar to what I saw with the Verizon feature when they were trying to push the PTT feature. The advantage is I guess Sprint has reduced the initial connect time to a quicker connection that what was offered thru Verizon. At least that is the sales pitch. She gave me a multi page print out but alot was sales mumbo but it seems like Sprint is at least trying to move this in the right direction, even stating they have addressed any issues due to a question about patents with Qualcomm. I think if Sprint would just tell us what is happening instead of keeping us in the dark it would make users not necessarily happy but at least satisfied to know that they are aware of the issues and are trying to fix them. When I used to work in retail it seemed like if you could at least give people an honest answer even if they didn't like it it was better than trying to blow smoke up their you know what. Sprint take notice
