Confused -- Verizon's 6800 no MMS?

So I spoke with a representative from Verizon on the phone and he said that the 6800 does NOT have MMS.

I walked into a store later and asked a "sales tech" and he said that it does have MMS capabilities.

I found this site in hopes of finding the right answer. Again, this is on with Verizon.

Additionally, what can I do with the phone once I get it as far as updates? I have only briefly read about different updates/(firmware). What kind of hacking is possible?

If MMS doesn't work on Verizon, is there a work around?
Thanks.

I've tried a search but couldn't find anything specifically related to Verizon.

MMS does work on the VZW XV6800. I used to have the stock ROM but upgraded once DCD over at XDA came out with the leaked version of sprints software. I am currently running DCD's 3.0.1 software with GPS and Rev A based off of Sprints recently released update.

Try hard resetting the phone, and let all the customizations run when it boots. Unless you've done that already and it didn't work...

Yes, Verizon XV6800 has MMS out of the box, and it works fine

There are lots of possibilities for modding, and more and more every day...sometimes every hour.......lol

Right now IMO the best option is DCD's 3.0.1 ROM with the new Radio....read here and enjoy:

Re: Confused -- Verizon's 6800 no MMS?

Anyone on here will tell you that their 6800 came with MMS when they bought it.
You don't need a mod or anything to get it.
It kind of silly to think otherwise, since the 6700 had it standard too.
It would be a big feature to drop.
It must be the representative's first day (or last and doesn't care.)

Re: Confused -- Verizon's 6800 no MMS?

Yes it does work and quite well too. I take pix and flix and send tthem to my home email address all the time. I don't have a data plan either. I DO have an unlimited txt, pix. flix plan though. Otherwise it costs $1.99 per MB to use the data (pix/flix) and $.25 (I think) per txt. With an unlimited data plan all pix/flix are free anyway...

Re: Confused -- Verizon's 6800 no MMS?

Hey guys,

thanks for the responses. I had a big gripe with the HTC5800/S720/Fusion. The calendar on the main screen would only show 1 appointment even if I had multiple appointments for that day. On a different phone i've seen it show up to 5 or more. Is this possible with the 6800?

Was it a Windows device? Because any Windows device I've used has an OPTION for whether you show all appointments or just the next appointment.
The option for this is located in the SETTINGS menu>TODAY icon>ITEMS tab> select calendar and click on options. The default is set to just show the next appointment only.
I bet you had it all along.

What you are doing is not a hard reset. It's for the phone unlocker.

Press both buttons with the dot on them (above the OK button and the windows button) and the reset at the same time for a hard reset.

If this doesn't bring back MMS, then you need no get the Arcsoft MMS cab installed or just use the 5060 kitchen and make sure that option is selected.
