Re: Anyone using Verizon (rather than Sprint)?!

And if you're waiting for an update from Verizon then don't hold your breath....there is NO word of an update. If you have been following the XV6800 at all then you know that it took around a year for Verizon to release it after other carriers already had them out.....Sprint just released their update a couple of days ago, so by the time that Verizon does it, there will already be 2 newer devices to replace the XV6800.

Adds Features, fixes bugs, (sometimes adds different bugs), but in my experience, custom ROMs are more reliable than the stock ROM, AND there are people CONSTANTLY working to improve them.

The new radio and custom DCD ROM add GPS functionality, so you can use your phone as a GPS......It also uses Windows Mobile 6.1, which isn't yet available through any carriers stock ROM.

If you use a "kitchen" to "cook" your ROM, then you can choose features and applications to be installed when you flash. These are installed in the ROM, not RAM, so they do not take up storage space that the applications would use when installed using the normal method.
