Re: Phone won't start-no bootloader

Nothing worked, I had to get a replacement from Sprint. Oh well, live and learn.

Too late I suppose, but did you try to enter bootloader mode?
I thought I had bricked mine, but when I manually entered boot loader, power, camera and soft reset I went to the tri color screen and was able to reload rom, radio etc.

Oh yeah, I had tried to enter bootloader many times, of which I had done in the past. It was just dead and not responding.

Re: Phone won't start-no bootloader

Well I am having somewhat of the same problem but even more confusing.... I installed 3.35 (official) and then went and installed DCD's 2.3.1 rom and everything was well for about two days. So last night I head out to the bar with a working phone and after about two hours or so I noticed the phone was dead and not turning on.....dead battery right? So i get home and plug it in and all i can get is a red light where it usually turns amber orange when you plug it in. Ive tried entering boot loader and hard reseting with no results, so I'm hoping there has been some kind of headway on this issue. Any and all help would be appreciated. thanks yall,

Jim.

Re: Phone won't start-no bootloader

well randomly after leaving it charging i noticed the LED light turned orange and vualahhh i hit the power button and it turned on. I checked my text messages and replied to a few, hit the today screen and it restarted. It started back up and so far so good, still working and hasn't restarted itself *fingers crossed*. I guess if you run into the same problem leave it connected charging and just hope you get lucky and the LED changes color.

Re: Phone won't start-no bootloader

This might be a battery issue. People who still have this issue, try using another battery to see if that works.

I tried another battery when my phone did this. I tried leaving it plugged into the charger overnight. Nothing helped. I had to replace the phone.

Re: Phone won't start-no bootloader

This state is called download mode, i have 2 devices stuck in it and am working on a solution. It appears that the new GPS radios are protected from overwrite and some attempts to revert can cause this situation. My signature shows the way it happened for me.

Re: Phone won't start-no bootloader

This happened to me after a successful install of DCD 2.3.2 and Radio ROM 3.27... Instead of reboot, device stayed off.

Red LED illuminates for approximately 2 seconds when USB cable is attached (with battery installed). Red LED illuminates steadily with no battery (and USB or power attached).

With battery installed (no LED), device is recognized in device manager as HTC Diagnostic Interface (PID 0B03) and HTC USB Modem. With no battery installed, device is not visible in device manager.

Any updates would be appreciated... otherwise this goes back for insurance replacement.
