Re: What features do you want to see in the Mogul 2?

EVDO Rev B? Where do you people pull this stuff from? I doubt you will ever see Rev B implemented by any providers. Verizon is changing technologies, and Sprint is moving to WiMax.

Other than that, I'd like a faster processor, at least 256 MB of ram, Windows Mobile 7, GPS, hardware qwerty, better screen (no white spots, made out of glass like the iphone screen), better camera.

Re: What features do you want to see in the Mogul 2?

I just want to say that all 4g (revC, umts) technologies will require new infrastructure for the service providers. RevB is more like 3.5g and triples the bandwidth available to a user. I don't know whether specific carriers have decided to deploy it or not. But given the alternatives, it will most likely get deployed. Anyways, REVB should be available for trials sometime this year.

I would Like to See "video out" like many vid cams they have the 4 prong plug with rca connections. I know that is usually done with a 1/8th in plug but that would be very useful to me for on the road presentations

Re: What features do you want to see in the Mogul 2?

Verizon is switching technologies all together, and Sprint is deploying WiMax (which would only make sense to be used in place of EVDO), so why would anyone bother with Rev B? Except maybe Alltel or something.

Re: What features do you want to see in the Mogul 2?

Rev B is turned on Rev A enabled towers with a software update to the equiptment. The only devices that need new chips are the end user devices. It would make sense that Rev B was enabled as a 3.5g intermediate technology.

Re: What features do you want to see in the Mogul 2?

I would just like more memory, perhaps 512-1GB so we can store, run several applications at once and still have plenty of room. My Mogul hits the ceiling when I just run one or two certain application and tends to go unresponsive for awhile. Also a better camera would be nice, I know that its possible. A little lighter and thinner would be killer as well, but the keyboard must remain.

Windows Mobile 7 - In two years we'll have android or something better.
256-512MB RAM (just because they screwed us bad this time) - no doubt
EVDO Rev B - unlikely, wimax is already out. widely by end of 2008 and standard in 2009
VGA Screen - Samsung M800 3.2 inch screen will suffice and it will be out this year
2GB internal Memory - won't happen for a while, see above about aftermarket memory.
Multi-touch screen (not plastic) - M800 again
10 hour talk time - this may be a while. nano tech and or hydrogen cells need to go widespread.
802.11 N - Wimax again
Slide out qwerty (I wouldnt trade off the keyboard) - I definitely second this.
5 megapixel camera - don't count on it soon. But in two years, you'll probably laugh at the quality of a 5 mp camera.

A LOT can and will change in two years. Wishing for wm7, more ram, and multitouch is really setting our expectations too low. Phones move so fast that wee will see these types of improvements by this time next year in a new model. In two years I want to see OQO sized OLED displays, ultra low power 1ghz processors, and download speeds equivalent to current home connection. (Since by then I'll likely be on 20mb fiber)
