Why am I 1X and not EVDO?

For some reason when I access the internet I am listed as "1X" and not "Ev"

Is there a way to fix this? I havent updated to the 3.16 rom and new radio, I have the stock mogul ones. But others report much higher speed tests than I am receiving....probably cause they are on the Evdo. I live in Austin Texas and I am sure they have the Evdo network here. In fact, I even see the little "Ev" icon most of the time around town, just whenever I access the internet it goes straight to "1x".

Re: Why am I 1X and not EVDO?

You should be in EVDO coverage. Sometimes I get stuck on 1X, but I think that is because I am running DCD2.2 with the 3.27 radio. When this happens I just soft reset or make a phone call and then hang up and then it usually goes back to EVDO.

from your dialpad, ##debug#.............lower left of screen, tap "debug info", select "HDR".......look at last line, AN/AAA authentication = should say "authenticated" if failed, you'll need to upgrade your Vision services...........*2

##debug# doesnt work for me, in fact I havent gotten any ## code to work in the dialer. I access the epst through the windows epst.lnk file....is there a debugger .lnk somewhere in the windows directory i can just click on?

Re: Why am I 1X and not EVDO?

if you have a 3rd party dialer, uninstall......then do the ##debug#, when you're through accessing the debug info, you can reinstall the dialer.

I was paying $5 for my Vision, had to upgrade to allow EVDO data connection.

When I do that I have "1X" listed at the top...and not "Ev"...anything else I should look for?

I tried removing my custom dialer, but now my dialer is all messed up. It like is all white, but the buttons are at 100% opacity cause I can see the today screen where they should be.
