I give another vote to PIMBackup. Its a standalone executable you run on your PPC and choose where you want to backup your contacts, appointments, text, etc.. Using the same program you can later restore that information

You can also just copy "pim.vol" from the root of your device to your storage card (or wherever) for a quick backup of contacts/calendar events/etc.

I still think that Outlook is the best at least in my experience. I sync my PDA contacts to Outlook and if decide to switch phones, they are still stored in my Outlook program on my desktop.

woohoo, the OFFICIAL release is FINALLY coming! Now I can actually upgrade and get gps and all the cool other goodies im missing out on.

(I refuse to upgrade to an unofficial ROM :P)

now that you've said it, i'll have to look out for this one along with you, but i ain't paying a dime for telenav as well when there's either tomtom 6 or garmin mobile xt i can try out.

I wont pay for anything unless it cant be pirated in some way/shape/form. These software developers are the real pirates, stealing TONS of money from innocent people. (I firmly believe that if software didn't cost so damn much, it wouldn't be pirated as often. $100 for office? $250 for an O.S.? $500 for photoshop? $1000 for premiere? Ridiculous. When they learn to stop bending us over for public raping sessions, I will be more than happy to pay a reasonable price.) And $9.99/mo for telenav is RIDICULOUS. That is $120 for a yearly subscription....just so I can use the functions my phone CAME with, after i spent the $600 to get it in the first place.

The software developers are just that, developers, they're not making the pricing, MS for example, is pricing based on what THEY want to price, bc someone will pay it (usually companies), but blaming the developers for expensive software is not really fair or valid, they create the software but lots of places don't charge an arm and leg for quality software.

You are right, I shouldn't be mad at the developers...just the marketing cronies. Really I don't mind paying for software, I buy stuff all the time. But *most* software is unreasonably priced. And the software I do buy, I still think is a little unreasonable. ($59.99+tax = $66, almost $70 per PS3 title, I would like to be walking out the door around $50)

What I can do though, is blame Adobe in particular at their outrageous pricing schemes. The only reason they can price like they do, is because giant corporations (like paramount for example) will come in, and buy 500 copies of the CS3 suite for ten gazillion dollars without a care. Why would any company in their right mind lower the price then...so when they see all of the sudden the public is pirating their software and they are SURPRISED...lol, its just funny to me.
