If that doesn't work, open your pc's task manager and look in the processes tab for: wcescomm.exe rapimgr.exe and end both. Then connect your PPC, and manually open Activesync from pc start menu. |

I just tried your suggestion and stopped the two processes. Magically, AS started. I was going to name my first child after you. Then I attached my phone and I got an error window that said, "Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft ActiveSync Troubleshooter in MSFT AS Help on your desktop computer." Any idea why I'm getting this? And will I have to manually shut down those two processes EVERY TIME I want to sync? What is the conflict that's causing the problem in the first place? Thanx! Shawn |

And no you don't have to keep ending them you can stop them before you boot up. Goto Start>Run, type msconfig and goto "Startup" tab and uncheck wcescomm. Activesync as a whole is a headache... but Ill try to figure this out and report back.
