This happened on both the OEM ROM/Radio and now with the leaked ROM/Radio. But the strange thing is, when I first installed the leaked ROM/Radio, for a couple days, it would go directly to voicemail when turned off. And for the longest time on the OEM ROM, when turned off, it would go directly to voicemail when turned off.

Ohhh yeah, and I forgot to mention, when I select "yes" to power-down my device, it immediately turns off. Before, there would be a couple seconds where it would turn off the radio (and plays the "radio off" sound) and you would see the radios x'd out in the taskbar.

You're not turning the phone off. You're putting the PDA to sleep. |

Interesting. I've not experienced this with 2.09, 2.17, or 3.16. When I power down, I always get the 5 second delay, the radio icon going to X, I hear half of the 'radio off' sound before it powers down. This behavior hasn't changed with any ROM.
Unfortunately, I'm 'on call' 24/7 so I can't answer your original query about the number of rings. |

If you just hit the button on the side you are putting it to sleep but if you keep that same button pressed for about 5 seconds or so it gives the option to power down the device, I think thats what he is talking about. So to answer the question, if the phone is powered off then it should go straight to voicemail, I know mine does.
